Cam recommendations for TPI.....

Car: 89 Turbo Trans Am and lots of non-3rd gens
Engine: 231 SFI Turbo's, LT4, LT1
Transmission: 2004r, 4L60E
Cam recommendations for TPI.....

What would be the cam recommendations for this Tuned Port setup, it would be a daily driver, looking for around 350hp and have decent gas mileage, but respectable power.
Build up includes:
ZZ4 short block
Sportsman 200 angle plug heads with 64cc chambers
Stock '92 TPI ported intake/plenum.
Doug Thorley headers and cat back
*
A TPI specific cam
Oh yea, this is going into a truck.

The camshaft I run is a specially designed Lingenfelter profile for TPI engines, and would suite your needs very well.

After reafding various posts for the last 3 hours, I think I've decided on the ZZ4 cam.
I will not be exceeding 5000rpms as this will not be going to the track but will be passing alot of cars on the freeway, so I don't need the added breathing over 5k, usually no more than 3500-4k rpms.
The ZZ4 looks very streetable yet still have plenty of low to mid torque with the stock TPI intake.
Any different opinions??

Im gona run a Lunati full roller nitrous cam. Its in their specialty cams section in the catalogue. Its gona put me in the 380hp and 420ft/lbs. range heres a post from the mfba boards i made about it

You are planning to put that camshaft in a street driven 350 TPI car ?
The only way I see it working well is if you keep the nitrous flowing full time.
That is a racing cam.

That Lunati full roller seems pretty hairy for a TPI. The dur @ .050 seems excessive, and a 112+ LSA might be better than the 110 LSA because it will provide more intake vacume. I got a Comp Xtreme Energy HR w/ 218/224, .495/.503, and 112 LSA, and some people were telling me that that was too big for what my engine.

ODB those are some impressive times you have there, and it appears your cam is mild. How does that beast drive on the streets?

It drives just like it did when it was new and stock. I drive it from St Louis to Atanta regularly and it got 24mpg last trip.
It is an extremely mild cam that builds great cylinder pressure.
