1992 pontiac trans am tpi issues
i have a 92 ta with the 5.0l v8 tpi
number 3 injector seems to be flooding the cyl with fuel
ive replaced everything ecm, prom, injectors, dist, coil and module, egr valve, map, tps,iac
but still have number 3 flooding
im sure it has to be wiring but why only number3

Re: 1992 pontiac trans am tpi issues
Hello there, there is an article about excessive fuel in cylinders for 5.7 TPI in justanswer (website), which seems to point to a timing issue. It's a long article, you may want to check it out. Perhaps it helps.

Re: 1992 pontiac trans am tpi issues
The injector wiring can't do this - it would have to flood all cylinders on the same bank. The wiring has +12v to the injectors at all times, and they are wired 1/3/5/7 to one injector driver, and 2/4/6/8 to the other driver. So if it were wiring, all the injectors on the odd bank would also be flooding their cylinders...... unless....
There could be something really special going on where there's an open in the control ground from that specific injector and the injector side of the open circuit has grounded out on the engine somewhere leading to that injector being open all the time.
Unplug all the injectors and the ECM and ensure that the ground side wiring of each injector is open (infinite resistance) on your meter.

Re: 1992 pontiac trans am tpi issues
so if im reading this right
all 4 injectors 1357 are connected back to the ecm on one wire ?
467 dk blu to bc11 on the ecm connector

Correct. May want to look at the splice where the wires from the injectors come together. If there is a wiring issue, that would be the first place I would check.

They are on here. Mention 3rdgen and get a discount. Around $160 Bosch III's. Or just get some other ones.

Southbay Bosch III injectors require tuning (in my opinion, and I'm not the only one). They have no published voltage offsets which complicates the tuning process. You can get Delphi's that are direct replacements but they aren't nearly as cheap. As with many thing you do get what you pay for.
