Bad Noise
I have a real bad noise that sounds like it's coming from the transmission
Only on left turns, not slow but around 15 mph. It sounds like somethings falling around and scraping???? I know the tranny mount is messed up b/c when i gas it Straight of teh line i can feel it move, but this doesn't sound the same
it sounds like metal clanking around jsut wondering what it is and should i worry?

If it only does it on left turns more than likely its in your rear end, could be the right axel bearing or the spider gears, Mine was making a grinding sound when turning right I found a ate up axel gear, it also wipped out my carrier.

You need to look at this ASAP or you will end up buying a new set of gears if its the spiders they will break and wipe everything out, If its the axle bearings no sweat just fix it, there not hard to replace, so either way you have to take the diff apart to find out whats wrong, Start by pulling the wheels, pull the cover, pull the lock pin that hold the center pin in "HOPE it don't BREAK" You may have to remove the right bearing retainer of the carrier, slide the middle main pin out, push both of your axels in and C-Clips will fall out that go on the end of the axle, pull your axels out and check for PITTING on the axles as well as the bearings, If no problem found there, roll your spider gears out becareful not to loose the shims, then pull your axle gears out, THE ONES ON THE INSIDE OF THE CARRIER ON THE SIDE check them for pitting as well as the carrier, Now on to how much it costs to fix, If you can find a salvage yard that will let you take parts off of a good rear end you can get spiders for about 25.00 and a carrier for about 40.00 plus the cost of the gear oil.

thanks alot.. i guess i'll have to fix this one! thanks for the help, theres no way this noise could be coming from the transmission moving around though? since i know i have a bad mount, that would be cheaper/easier to fix than this... just wondering

well if you know you have a bad mount fix it first, I never have heard of a noise like that coming from a bad mount but stranger things have happened, its easer than tarin down your rear end too. let me know what you find out.

well i drove around today and didn't hear any noise, but i didn't go over 15 around a turn, i will fix the mount soon, i know it's probably not that, but i was hoping for the best since i know nothing about rear-ends... can power braking mess up your rear end? b/c this noise didn't come until after i did some of those

well any type of abuse " POWER BRAKING, DONUTS, DRIFTING, SLICKS" will all take its toll on the powertrain, sooner or later your gonna shell something, weather its your rear end or your tranny. Keep this phrase in mind, YOU PLAY, YOU PAY!!!!! and that is a fact.
