I want to take out my governor
But I've never done such a thing. I've got a couple very good gearhead friends who'll help, but I need some step by step instructions. I'm looking to change the spring(s), because after my tranny was rebuilt, it misbehaved for a while before almost going back to normal, with a couple exceptions. I have to use a considerable amount more pedal to get my downshifts, and there is a lull, then sharp shift when the tranny does give the gear up. The upshifts seem fine, but could be a bit snappier.
I am pretty much convinced that the TV cable is right on the engine compartment end, but as far as the TV spring goes, I couldn't tell you.
Also, as far as I know, there shouldn't be a larger boost valve or a shift kit in the tranny now. How might I go about determining that? And where can I find the o-rings and seals to do a servo swap? If you know the part numbers, that'd help a lot.
Anyone who has a good bit of experience, plus some pictures, would be thanked profusely if they would share their insights.
