your year of car depends on the bolt pattern on the crankshaft 1986-1987 was the changeover. the amount of ring gear teeth will effect wich starter you will need as well, sometimes you can just change the nosepiece on the starter to accomodate the standard tranny. I can take some pics tommorrow if you can wait.
let me know.

Car: '86 Camaro, '02 WRX, '87 K5, '67
Engine: 350 TPI, 2.0turbo, 383 in the works, 289-4BBL, 232, A-head 4-cylinder
Transmission: T56, 5-speed, 700R4, C4, T176, semi-auto 2-speed
Axle/Gears: 3.73, 3.90, 4.88, 3.55, 3.54, 7.00
The correct flywheel should be a 153 tooth (small) for a T5 car. If you put a small flywheel over a big one you can see the difference. They are impossible to confuse. The small one is a little over 12", the big one is like 14".

Then you need to know which style RMS your engine has. 1-piece uses a small circular bolt pattern. 2-piece had a bigger pattern, because the crank flange didn't have to fit through the RMS.

Car: 91 Camaro RS

Transmission: T-5
Axle/Gears: 3.42 lsd 10 bolt
Here is a picture of two 1 piece rms 153 tooth flywheels.
The one on the left is the LG4/ L03 (25lb one) and the one on the right is the LB9 (18lb one).

The LB9 one is the hot one to run if you've got both. The lighter weight will help acceleration, wihout adversley affecting idle quality like a "lightweight" flywheel often does. I've got one on my car now that weighs like 9lbs and the idle is choppy, though my cam is stock.
