torque arm bushing problem
Ok, here I am in Japan, with a brand new torque arm bushing that will not fit in the MANUAL MOUNT BRACKET. It works great in the AUTO bracket, but will not fit in the 5 speed one. The P/N is ENS-3-1111G. Summit said it should fit. The mount i believe came from a 1991 car. I takes 7-10 days to get parts over here, so this is the last thing i need!
Any ideas? Were the mounts different or just the "rubber inserts?" Here are some pics to help.
Thans to all, and have a HAPPY TURKEY DAY.

OOF , Another of my "impossible" questions. They seem to get 30+ looks, and no responses.

I had the same problem on a manual mount, but eventually got it to fit. First problem was that I didn't get the old rivots fully ground off. After taking care of that I eventually got the clamp to close, but it took using a C-Clamp to compress it while installing the bolt. It was a real pita, but it worked.
I hope this helps.

Am I assuming correct that you are trying to set up a manual trans? The part # you posted is for a torque arm with the lips pointing away from the driveshaft. Did you get this bushing in factory Energy Suspension packing (skinned packed or boxed)? The orientation of the internal slot in the first two pictures is what you are looking for with that number bushing. It should also match your current torque arm setup as well. Does either mount bolt up to your transmission without needing extra parts like spacers and such? The bottom two pictures of the same mount looks as if we are looking at the front side of the mount as it would be mounted on the trans and looking down the driver side of the trans from the front of the car. The stud should be in the bottom rear hole of the trans and the open eared end should be in front bottom hole. The third is the clamshell hole which ties the outer clamshell to the mount and threads into the trans. In the middle pic, do you try rotating the bushing 180 degrees front to back to see if it would fit better?
I'm stating the above because I have a '82 Firebird that is converted from 4 spd to 5 spd and when I installed the poly TA mount, it looks to be the same as your bushing. I did buy the bushing off E-Bay (used) and the only number on it was "1040" stamped on one end where the torque arm would slide thru. I do not remember which end it is actually on in it's current setup. The outer shell on the bottom two pics is shaped closely like the 4 spd's outer shell that was on mine but mine is bolted in from the bottom side with two bolts.
My other setup is a '95 TA 6spd and it uses the same number bushing. Both of my current torque arm setups are the same, lips pointing away from driveshaft.
According to the Jeg's book, #3-1111G is 1984-96, lips pointing away from driveshaft and #3-1112G is 1984-92, lips pointing towards the driveshaft. The 1982-83 mount is totally different and lips point towards driveshaft, 33-1110G.
I have some pics of the '82 with the 5 spd and factory 5 spd TA bushing installed but no pics of the poly one. Also have pics of the 4 spd TA mount and shell as it is bolted to the trans and its poly bushing ot the end of the TA If you'd like to compare. I have no clear pics of the '95s bushing as the x-brace blocks most of the mount. The pics are over 390KB Jpeg each so don't think they will fit here, could e-mail them to you if possible if you like. Let me know.
I hope this helps you out some, Allan.

Re: torque arm bushing problem
Crazy to get a hit this far in the future. Unfortunately I don't remember what I did. If I had to guess it would be that i just pinched down that part number really hard and made it work. Sorry, but best wishes.
