Hawks repo manual pedals & safety switch

Hawks repo manual pedals & safety switch
I installed the hawks repo manual pedals and having a issue installing the clutch safety switch. The pedals look like 4th gen pedals, brackets are beefy and measure 1/8 (.120) thickness. The problem I have is the GM black safety switch for 1987-2002 cars is slotted to fit into this1/8 bracket. The slot depth is only .060 deep, which means it will not fit the 1/8 thick bracket mount. The switch cam in a GM /AC Delco bag, so I am pretty sure it was manufactured correctly.
Has anyone installed the hawks pedals and made that safety switch to work?
This bracket is 1/8 thick
These slots about 1/16 or .060 deep.

I have the same pedals as well and have had the same issue. I havent gone back and revisited the issue yet myself but Id like to know what other people have done to correct this.

Re: Hawks repo manual pedals & safety switch
I have had to deal with this on many of my Customer's Cars.
I had to cut off the section that the Switch(s) attach to.
Remake the section out of thinner Steel...
But then have to reinforce the new section with a Gusset on the top and a Gusset on the bottom to keep from bending.

That is irritating at the very least, not happy that it needs to be modified to work.

Here is how I corrected, 5 minutes with a cut off wheel on a dremel. Just shave off these 4 spots
a little bit and it will slide onto the bracket no problem. Just be careful not too take off to much, I took off just a small amount until it slide into the bracket.

Yes as long as you dont take too much off. Take your time and shave off a little at a time and test fit until it slides on with slight pressure

This is basically what I did as well and while too bad a mod was needed it was pretty simple

Yea, I'm about to do the pedal box replacement and would like to know if there is any kind of conversion info. If not, that means I have to do my own research which uses way more of a limited resource for me (brain power).
