adding an oil pressure gauge

i dont want to lose the factory gauge but its not accurate at all. it looks like their is another spot to add a sending unit by the filter. has anyone added a gauge and left the factory one?

Re: adding an oil pressure gauge

I got a t-fitting and just put in the idiot light plug and the new gauge plug and it works good. I don't know if there is a spot there for another sensor or not.

Re: adding an oil pressure gauge

not sure how your 2.8 is setup for sure, but my 350 has another plug right next to the distributor on the back of the block. if you take that out, you can use that one. if you're factory gauge isn't working, leave it where it is, just put in an aftermarket gauge in that plug on the block... no sence in having two oil pressure gauges when only one works....

Re: adding an oil pressure gauge

Both of my gauges work. I like my aftermarket one so I can see what the presure is and I like the idiot light as a good warning light

Re: adding an oil pressure gauge

I forget what size it was. You can just take the sensor with you when you buy it to make sure its the right size.
