Rebuild distributor?
Well I'm getting closer to my car being a daily driver next thing on my list is the distributor I would like to rebuild it if it were possible the ignition control module I believe is on its way out being my car backfires under load sometimes and everything else has been replaced. Could I just put a new ignition control module, pick up, and bushing and call it a day? Or would I just be better off getting a new one?

Re: Rebuild distributor?
really just depends on how rusty and nasty yours is. mine was pretty bad so i just bought a new one. the are only 150ish and the new ones are a better design than the stock ones.

Re: Rebuild distributor?
In all honesty, the reluctor wheels on the stock distributors like to crack. This causes a multitude of problems. If your ignition module and pickup coil are already on their way out, just get a reman distributor. They have a redesigned reluctor that doesnt crack and better shaft bearings. It should come with a new ignition module, pickup coil, and rebuilt reluctor.

Get an AC Delco ignition module and pickup coil and follow the tread below. You will save a few bucks and learn a lot.
