Are you sure it wasn't TTA? Far more common... I do believe I've heard of an SSA before though, no joking. I"ll dig around and see if I can come across that one again...

On my window sticker for the car, it came with the Sports Appearance Package, and I didn't receive any SSA thing.....

OOH. Maybe it stands for Standard Sports Appearance....meaning Standard vehicle (no engine upgrade) with Sports Appearance

My badges on the side of my car didn't have the SSA on it. My car doesn't have any badges or stickers on it. Execpt the rear center tail cover. If you add the Hood, wrap around wing, tail lights and 16x8 rims. The car will look like a GTA. I have the Hood to go...

Told ya I've heard of it!!

If anyone wants my GTA hood, I'll trade for an ASCD Ram Air one. It needs paint and a little bondo work. I was quoted $150 at the body shop.

The "SSA" was a Sna Fransico / Sacramento area emblem for the 1989 Firebird with the "Sport Appearance Package". I have also seen the "XS" Firebirds, which were for the L.A. area only. This option only lasted about 6 months.

So if my 91 has the nose, driving lights, ground effects from the factory it is a "SSA"??? Hermmm.... Just when i thought it got easy to tell the difference lol..... I always thought it was a 2 door sports coupe with factory T/A package/ground effects... Hell if i put a V8 wrap around spoiler and a ram air hood on it it would look just like a formula sans the power bulge hood rather a ram air hood and get me more races... hermmmm do i REALLY wanna sell out now? lol.....

Re: Never heard of this one

Ok, I have a '92 Firebird (305 V8 T.B.I.), but mine dosen't have a "SSA" or a "XS" on it, instead, behind the front wheels on the ground effects it has gold S/A decals on it. I've been searching all over to find its meaning but so far this is the closest I have come, someone told me it was also called "sports appearance" but im not too convinced. I will post some pictutres of it when i get the chance. I dont see too many firebirds with this particular ground effects kit either (maybe one or two so far). This has been bugging me ever since I bought it.

Here is a picture of my 'bird... Can't see the S/A though..will upload some better pictures tomorrow
