Stallin issue.

Ok here is my problem. I can start my car up it will idle fine right around 800 rpm. I can drive normally after start up but once the car hit normal operating temp i start having problems. The car will drive normally until I start to stop for a light or make a turn the car will drop rpms while down shifting to around 200 rpm an lower until the car is stopped completely. sometimes the car will stall while going through this and the issue happens even if im not using the brakes. I have recently replaced pretty much the whole eletrical system due to another issue I had earlier. any ideas?

I'm having the exact same issue, and I am also wondering how i would raise the idle, I thought that its recommended not to touch the idle. If its possible, how can we do this?

for the 3.1 the idle is set where it should be. I'm going through the same problem and its ticking me off. I tried changing the fuel filter ....not that, changed out the fuel regulator....not that, I dont know how to check the fuel pressure so I'm out of luck on that.

Are you guys getting error codes? How do you check that on your own. I know the newer cars you can take it to autozone and they can do a check for free....

Thanks.....

Re: Stallin issue.

hey guys dunno if this will help or not, but my car was doing the same sort of thing, turns out there was a pipe that wasn't fitted really good going to the brake booster and so = vacuum leak = stall (i think) anyway I cut a new pipe and it goes fine now...

Re: Stallin issue.

They're bloody picky things. My car stalls now for some reason, but only once you try starting it again after a short drive...very confusing. Any help anyone?

Re: Stallin issue.

My bird had the same problem when i picked it up back in january.

I still have yet to completely fix the stall problem but I have narrowed it down to only stalling when I have low fuel.

Ive replaced the FPR diaphragm, fuel filter, vacuum lines and a few other things but those three were the only ones related to the fuel system.

In response to the original problem what may be happening is since it runs fine at first there may be rust deposits in the gas tank or line and may clog up the line slowly as the car runs. Thats what I was told anyway, have yet to drop my gas tank and check it out. The fuel filter was full of rust though.
