VSS buffer
Can anyone tell me where the VSS buffer is on the 92 V6?.... I thought it was behind the passenger side dash but I do not see it.
Thanks.

Nope not interested in that at all. There should be a buffer somewhere to knock the signal down from 4000 pulse to 2000 pulse for the cruise control. Sitting in the passenger seat there a dash, then behind that there is the ECM, then behind the ECM there is black box. I think this is it but I am not positive about this.
Anyone?..

My VSS buffer is attached to the ECM Carrier in a yellow box. The only black box related to the cruise control on my Bird is the module which is behind the pass. dash just below the "Map Pocket."
Just a little food for thought.

A '92 V6 will definately have the electronic speedometer; so the yellow box behind the speedometer (on 86/87-below f-bodies) won't be there.
Don't know where the buffer would be, though. I always assumed it was made integral with the computer.

oops, my mistake. After reading Tom's post I went back to look at the wires coming out of the ECM. I mistaken the red wire going to the cruise control module which is the black box behind the ECM as a power lead. In fact it is the 2000 pulse/mile signal wire. Sorry for the confusion.
Thanks for the replies.
