Low profile tires on stock rims.
I have a 92 RS with stock 16 inch rims and was wondering if I could get some pics possibly of the same rims with different tires sizes. Please put the tires sizes with the pic, thanks!

Re: Low profile tires on stock rims.
I ran my Camaro years ago with factory IROC wheels (16x8) with 245 45 16 tires with the car very low and it still looked like crap. It was a big mistake. The 245 50 16's look so much better.

Re: Low profile tires on stock rims.
It might not look very good with such a small wheel, 17 or 18 inch wheels would be better for low profiles, but why would u want low profiles, it would just destroy your back and your car lol, pot holes would be your worst enemy even more with low profiles.

Re: Low profile tires on stock rims.
I had 245/45/16 on my stock rims and I liked the size better than the 245/50/16.
I felt that it handle better than the 245/50/16 and it did look better with the low profile tires and this is with my Jamex springs suspension when it was lowered.
This is an old picture from 2001 with 245/45/16 all around. Hard to see from an old picture. This is all I got.
Hope this helps.

Re: Low profile tires on stock rims.
I mainly want to know if I change from my current 235/60r16's to 245/50r16, will I be able to notice a sizeable difference in the look. I hate the tires that are on the car now. They look way too tall and make the car sit too high. Input is appreciated, thanks.

The car will sit the same height, but the side wall will be shorter and width will be wider. IT will look better. Also depends on the brand of tire too. Potenzas and Falkens and the like, run narrower. BF, Goodyear, Continental, and Kumho all run wider.

Have a look at Cooper Zeon Sport rubber. The tread width is a little wider than some, fills out the rim nicely and look meaty.

Re: Low profile tires on stock rims.
I just know the tires I have on there now definitely look too tall and the 245/50's have a 3/4 inch smaller sidewall so it should lower the car a little, I hope.

Re: Low profile tires on stock rims.
235/60R16 makes for a 27" high tire where 26" is factory tire height.
No surprise the thing will look like an SUV with those.
245/50R16´s will give you a 25,7" tire.

Re: Low profile tires on stock rims.
215/65 R15 (standard RS rim/tire combination) = 26"
245/50 R16 (standard IROC rim/tire combination) = 25,7"
245/50 R16 (standard IROC rim/tire combination) = 25,7"

Re: Low profile tires on stock rims.
My tires now look as tall as the tires on my dad's truck! They were put on my the car's previous owner. I wouldn't have even thought about tires with that tall of a sidewall unless they were slicks or something.

Re: Low profile tires on stock rims.
Theres also the 235 55 16. It's 26.1 inch. A little bit closer to stock height, but not as common as the 245 50. About the only tire I can ever find for it is the goodrich traction, which isnt too bad. Had them on my 96 then went with it again for the 85.
