OE Performance Wheels

Before I get totally ripped I did search first

So has anyone used OE Performance Iroc Z replica wheels? I've got a set coming (17x8 fronts and 17x9 rears) and am wondering about some things I've seen. On Hawks they show the full "kit" to come with spacers for the front!?!? But dont say how thick they are. SO I'm wondering if any of you folks can shed light on this. The car I just bought has C5 Corvette wheels on them with very thick spacers - I dont like either of them! But very much like where they sit in the wheel well. So do any of you run these wheels and/or spacers on the front or on the back. How thick are they 1/4" 1/2"??? I'm personally not afraid of spacers, have been running them on different stuff forever and a day with no issues.

Your input is greatly appreciated! Thanks

Re: OE Performance Wheels

I would say that it's going to be 1/2" since the OEM rear wheels had a rear 5-1/4" back spacing and the fronts had a 4-3/4". So you'll receive four new rear wheels with two 1/2" spacers to make the fronts fit correctly.

Re: OE Performance Wheels

Thanks man... I'm actually getting the two I chose for the front from one place and the rears from another. One had 17x9s the other the 17x8s I want on the front but neither had both. None the less they do send 1/4's for the front but I bought 1/2's for the front and plan to put the 1/4's on the rears... And leave it or adjust from there depending on what it looks like and how it feels.

Re: OE Performance Wheels

Yeah I measured the back spacing on both of my IROC and GTA wheels to make sure they were the same. 5.25" and 4.75" on both sets lol!

No they go on the rear. The factory GTA and IROC wheels had "front" and "rear" cast into the wheels. I can measure the back spacing, but I'm not not sure what the offset is.

Yes of course as the the front is always wider... Yeah these replica's are not cast like that BUT I know I'm'a do the 8 wide front and 9 wide back - Got the fronts today!

Re: OE Performance Wheels

I have always loved the first gen ('85-'87) IROC wheels and the Cross lace GTA wheels, unfortunately there are a ton of people in my area running the 22" replicas and they're getting played out. In my opinion the iroc wheels always looked best on a Camaro or an S10.

Re: OE Performance Wheels

I wouldn't put 22 anything on anything. Especially one of these. 22 inches of wheel and a 1/2 inch of tire just looks bad to me . I would have stated that much stronger but I'm letting my more easy side prevail these days

To be honest Hawks has a really awesome set of 88-90 replicas that I like just marginally more. BUT they only have them in 17x9 and with the tires I chose for the front a 245/45ZR17 I didnt want a 9" wheel in the front. But these are really cool, I got one front yesterday and the other today. They look really bad ****!!!

Its good for me because there Might be a hand full Iroc Z's around here, Maybe?? I got asked to sell it three times bringing it home last weekend on the trailer...

Re: OE Performance Wheels

This is the only vehicle I ever ran 22s on and it looked just fine! Great truck but it was just not practical, so I went back to a non lifted pickup.

Half of the people are running them on full size GM SUVs and pickups, with the other half being on late 70s to mid 90s Caprices with big *** lifts...
