MSD Digital-6 Plus vs. Holley Strip Annihilator

Who has one of these and what are your thoughts on them?
I know they are both microprocessor controlled and have rev limiters, but the Holley is adj. from w/in the ****pit. Price is only $20 different.
So who has what and do you like it? Has is lasted long or given you any problems? Thanks.

I was looking at both, but a few friends of mine are very good bracket racers. In their group of friends there were some problems with the new Holley units, so I bought the Digital 6 and could not be happier with it. Maybe Holley was just having the new problem blues, but I was not going to take the chance...

My question is: What do the racers run? When I go to the track all I see are msds new and old. That says something.

IMHO go checkout Jacobs Electronics for ignition mgmt systems. I've used them and they REALLY produce power.

The racers use MSD because they don't sit in traffic jams idling away for hours on end travelling to and from work.... different systems for different applications. think about it ?

The only MSD that I have used that hates street use is the 7AL. Even then it seems to be more coild related. My 6AL and Digital 6 see massive street use without complaining.

palric,
I have noticed in your posts on ignition questions that, you always put "The racers use MSD because they don't sit in traffic jams idling away for hours on end traveling to and from work". I am not trying to stir anything up or knock any other manufacture but this statement is just not true. All Of our 6 series ignitions are designed to function on daily driven applications, sit in traffic etc., with out any problems at all. Even the MSD 7AL-2 box can be used on a daily driver with the correct coil. I am not trying to push MSD, I just wanted you to know the actual truth.
Thanks,
Joe

Does any one have any 1/4 mile improvements to post.

I went from stock ignition to MSD7 with no gain.

a73camaro, did your car seem to run any smoother, better throttle response, better anything?

The addition of the MSD7 box definitely made starting the car easier when compared to the "stock" electronic ignition. It is a 13.5:1 compression engine with a ~310°, ~0.600" lift cam.

We recommend up grading from the standard 6 to the standard 7 box when your compression is above 13-13.5:1. The digital 6 does produce more output then the standard 6 so it will be capable of more.
