Xtreme E.Cam

I was wondering what type of heads or what to do to my stock heads to work best with this cam? My car is a daily driver and I don't want anything that will take away its driveability. The cam is Compcams Xtreme Engergy 12-234-2. They also have a less mild cam but I want power all the way to red line,(600-4200rpm) can this be acomplished with the less mild cam.

These mods will be done before I get the cam: ram air,k&n,t.b. airfoil,52 mm t.b.,ported pleneum, slp runners, edelbrock intake manifold,AFPR,k&n fuel filter,Complete MSD ignition, edelbrock headers, high flow cat, flowmaster cat back.

You are going to want at Least a 112LSA for daily driving or you will experience Vacume Problems. I am running the Xtreme 08-502-8 218/224 496/502 112 LSA

I am currently running that cam in a 327 in my old pickup. I dont know how it will work with fuel injection, but it has a fairly smooth idle and 18 in of vacuum at idle. I'll be moving this motor into my firebird sometime next month. The firebird is a cc quad though so it still doesnt match your car. I am currently using stock 1.72 valve 68 327 heads. They work fine and with the 327 I can hit 7000. Maxed out at 7300 once!

Anyone have a cam suggestion Im going to leave my heads stock(maybe roller rockers). Mods will be the same as above. The cam should have a somewhat nice idle and a power curve that goes right to 5000rpm or 5500rpm.

Mkos1980 I looked up your cam and it looks good. Would it be good with stock heads?

Unfortunately our stock L98 Heads are junk. Any aftermarket head would be an improvement if you want to spend the cash.

Do you have a 350 or 305? I dont think I see your engine anywhere in the post. If your looking for a little better with no work to the stock heads, crane makes a nice compucam that works good with factory computer and heads.

The cam you are referring to is not a roller. You should have a roller block. Is the motor tore down or are you trying to just change the intake and up?The reason I ask is there might be a better way to spend your money for more power gains by not getting the throttle body and ignition at this time and rethink it all because the heads are going to restrict all the good stuff you put in front of them.I guess I am saying build the motor with better haeds and the rest will be bolt ons later.
