Does anyone make a bolt on turbo?

Is there any company that make a bolt on kit, or one with minor faborcations to fit our v-8 third-gens?

I think your best bet if you're seriously considering a turbo charger would be to call Gale Banks Engineering to pick their minds about camaro/firebird experience. I have a book, "Camaro and Firebird Performance Handbook" that has a section on what you're asking, by Peter C. Sessler, but that's the only place I can remember seeing anything in detail about turbocharging a thirdgen. Take care now...

Banks at one time a few years back had a 1982 Trans Am that ran an average of 204 mph that sported a 600+ hp twin-turbo 350 engine. But from what I've gathered in talking with them recently, they no longer sell any part of that kit at all.......

They're moving in other directions now..... i.e. DIESEL TRUCKS!

Turbo Technology out of Tacoma Washington used to make a single turbo intercooled "Stealth" kit for early TPI cars. This system was featured in an early 90's issue of "Turbo" magazine.

Apparently the company still exists but the system has been discontinued for quite some time. I'm not sure why but if it worked, I don't see any reason for enough money and interest, the same company couldn't bring it back. I think it even had an E.O. number.

You're not the one laying down all that rubber on Weisbrook road are you? What did Bill ever do with that V8 SVO turbo?

Nooooo, we wouldn't deface city streets! The SVO went 9.60's on a junk 302 with cast pistons and rods! It is now in Plano for the winter. There is an A4 based motor being built for next season. Looking for high 8's on stock-type suspension. Think we will replace the TSI C4 trans with a Jerico 5-speed.

Accel made a very complete single turbo kit for the second gen. I don't know if that would fit a third gen but I have the complete kit minus the turbo, new in the box.

Keith, do you have any pictures you could email to me? I have never seen an Accel kit. Must be old. Send 'em to me if you have 'em. Is the kit for sale? If not, I will sell you a turbo for it. I am a dealer for Turbonetics...

Probably '79 vintage and I don't have pictures but I will take some and e-mail them to you. That just might take a few days.

It was a single turbo setup with the turbo base on the drivers side manifold setting on the top, front(?). My memory isn't what it once was and I haven't looked at it in years.
