$800 dollar headers

Why are these so expensive?? ive never seen headers even close to that price before. http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/in...OD&ProdID=1714
But they would be awsome considering they were specially made for our cars..

Re: $800 dollar headers

they are quality stainless steel , ( not the easiest , or cheapest to work with ) . made for 3rd. gens. , look good for true duals , should last forever if everything hawks say is correct . look good to me , wish i had the extra bucks right now . maybe on my next engine .

Re: $800 dollar headers

I prefer hookers long tube headers. they run roughly $750.00 and thats ceramic coated. Mufflex makes a Y pipe for the hookers as well. makes it alot easier to connect back to a single exhaust.

Re: $800 dollar headers

Made for 3rd gens....with stock drivetrain. Doubt they'd fit too well with my Spohn T56 crossmember.

I would just weld my own if i wanted long tubes haha. Screw $800 dollar headers they would take like 3 hours to cut bend and weld and cost way way less. I want try-y's anyways

yes you could go through the headache of doing that unless you are very good with fabrication but they are tuned when you buy them that way. and your really paying for the stainless.

sure you can get hookers or hedmanns but ceramic coat in my opinion sucks. once they get even a little bit of moisture over time, they pit and start looking shabby.

Re: $800 dollar headers

screw that, i say painted with good header paint and wrapthem up to keep the temp down. no reason to do that unless it's a show car. if you think 800 is xpensive i know a guy buying ones for his mustang, 2K for titanium.

Re: $800 dollar headers

those headers are nice and quality stuff made by stainless works for hawks and they are cheaper than other stainless headers that Stainless Works makes for other cars. not a bad deal if you ask me

the improved ground clearance those headers offer over hooker longtubes is worth the extra pennies. a MUST for lowered cars too.

I wouldn't spend on a mustang

Stainless headers are nice, never have to worry, stainless headers came with the Gale Banks system put on my motorhome, never had any issues other than them turning a little blue

Titanium headers? sh*t those would be pricey but extremely light and rust proof. I want a titanuim engine

Ground clearance? The duals still have to under the crossmember like everything else.

Re: $800 dollar headers

true, but on most setups i've seen, the header/collectors were the lowest part to the system. these make it possible to tuck up the exhaust alittle bit more and every bit helps

Re: $800 dollar headers

id go with the hookers but they are too expesnive, and ceramic coating doesnt last anyway, you might as well just get header paint! I'm also looking into dougs headers which are supposed to be just as good yet cheaper. I think jet hot has the hookers for 700 plus ship

Re: $800 dollar headers

Run coated stainless headers and it will outlast the car. Definetly worth it if you plan to keep the car!

Re: $800 dollar headers

while i agree its a high price for a header.... the market makes them that high.
those are on the lower end of the price spectrum.
ive seen shorty stainless headers for other models for more than the asking price.

if they are improved ground clearance over the hookers, id sport them.

i have a set of their lsx headers. while expensive, they are a very nice piece.
id expect the quality of these to be the same.
