I have a 1991 Z28 350ci 5.7L TPI and I want a good gas saving chip that won't cost an arm and a leg. Got any ideas?

Re: Chip
My suggestion if for you to use the TGO PROM board and learn how to do your own. It will be a little slow learning at first (in most cases) but in the end it will be very much worth it. It is the best way of all.
But in case you are stuck on not learning to do it yourself... fastchip.com is the only one I remember to have a ~ good reputation, but I've never used them. There are probably others, but like I said, I learned to do it myself and advise you to do that, too.
Good luck.

Re: Chip
the only/best way to do what you want to do is to learn how to burn your own proms. read up on it, and when you get the hang of it, read up on a thing called "Highway Mode". i think the equipment is around the $300-$400 range, and then all the rest is your time on learning and tuning. its a very good investment. im currently tuning my honda with the same equipment too, although it does not have the highway mode feature, i was able to adjust the fuel maps for a leaner afr while under low load conditions, so far im getting 30mpg in the city, and im shooting for 35mpg city within the next 6 months, and thats with a heavy foot and 10psi boost. but this method is only recommended for people not running a catalytic converter as lean afr's can ruin the cat.

I had a hypertech chip for my firebird back in high school and I dont care what people say they work. They are not going to give you tons of power, but they'll give you a little. Pic up one used for like 75 dollars or so, not too bad for around 5+ HP and a little torque?
