Headlight replacement
Im thinking of changing out my headlights to get them brighter. these are the ones i was thinking of:
1992 camaro headlights
Are these all the supplies i would need? or do i need to buy a regulator of some sort? Or is the whole kit just plug-and-play?

Re: Headlight replacement
You could use that setup just as is but it may cause your headlight switch to overheat. I would suggest doing the headlight upgrade :https://www.thirdgen.org/headlightupgrade
I did what halogen bulbs and the upgrade. It made one hell of a difference. I have other people asking me to do it to their vehicles now. It's simple, fast, and works. Hope that helps.

or.. if you don't wanna hack the wiring, a set of Silverstars will work. I upgraded the headlights in my Z28 to them and it's worth the $$$ imo.

Re: Headlight replacement

Unless you have the coin to go with a true HID system (at around $1,000) go with the silverstars.
If you WANT to go HID

Re: Headlight replacement
with the headlight upgrade article linked, what hacking is there????? it plugs in to the factory connectors. no cutting of the factory harness required. i use it and silverstars and love the results.

Re: Headlight replacement
What about fog loghts anyone? My car has the factory fogs, do they make an Hid upgrade for these? Like a conversion kit or anything? What about just bulbs? Thank you.

Re: Headlight replacement
So using this setup what would be one way to ensure that the headlight switch wont burn up?

Those style lights are JUNK JUNK JUNK! Did I mention they are junk?
Don't waste your $. You want simple drop-in? Get the Sylvania Silverstars. Wanna spend a lot more $? Get a true projector HID kit. Lots of money but the output is incredible & worthy it if you can afford it.

Re: Headlight replacement
Just so I'm clear, are the Sylvania Silverstars drop-in replacements or do you need to install relays to avoid overheating the dashboard switch because they draw more power than the standard lights?

Re: Headlight replacement
I recommend the Silverstar's. You can pick them up for around 20 a lens at any autozone or o' reilly's and theres no modification necessary. They're a fair price, easy to install and a nice white color light.

I finally got my set of lights, from neondaniels. And I love them. Everything works great and they look amazing.
