Roll Cage Pics.

Can people post pics of there roll cages? I am not in the market but I want to see i it is possible to route a bar beside the seat so that I make the car more rigid, but not limit my back seat use.

Thanks Guys!

Here is the only photo I have of mine on the web. I can snap some more this weekend if youd like.

I did nothing for the door bars. They are straight. It is close to the arm rests and the seats but it fits and it does not bother me.

Im getting ready to pull the interior back out and finish it into a full cage.

Guido, did you build it or buy it? Has it tightened it up?

You might want to look into SFC's to stiffen up your car, that way you don't even have to ruin your backseat, and if was putting a cage it, i would defently have SFC's anyway.

That looks really uncomfortable to get in and out of

It is a little bit.
I dont mind the comprimise though when it comes to my safety on the track.

ProStreet,
It was custom built. The speed shop here has dimensions on roll cages specific to certain cars, so we bent up the hoop roughly and then fit it into the car and ran the front and back bars off of it.

I can take more photos if you like. Ill be taking the interior out very soon to complete the cage. We are going to do the bars over the top and maybe into the engine compartment as well.

You can also check www.kennybrown.com he has one, it doesn't have the bar in front of the door like that so it's a little easier to get in and out of.

KB's cage is not legal in NHRA for 11.99 and faster, however. It does stiffen the chassis, but will not provide you with side impact protection like a true six point will. I'll have pics of mine up as it's completed. I like to be able to crawl over my door bars, so they'll have a little bend to them.

Here are some pics of mine from last year before I cut out the cage part and made it bar instead.

http://www.geocities.com/mek88427/cage1.jpg up to ~cage9.jpg

It's from swracecars.com and has the pre bent door bars for clearance between the arm rest and the seats. I installed it myself.

I dont know if it will help but I got a sweet cage from www.wolferacecraft.com. I have a fourth gen but this cage fits great. I feel that it has made my car more rigid too. The door bars are slightly bent which make it easy to get in and out.

I am going to try to create a Kenny Brown type cage (kinda, not as high quality) and have a places where I can tap in for the hoop and shoulder bar, so I could bolt 'em into place come raceday. But I want to know how the bar parallel to the floor clears the seatbelt point on the floor.

427, does yours go over or did you have to clearance the box? (A picture would be wonderful, if you have it)

Thanks for all your posts!!!

Sorry, but I'm not sure what box you are talking about. I posted the links to about 9 pics further up this post. Let me know and I'll see what pics I have around (car's currently in storage).

You missed it by 2 inches a couple of times. It is the box at the left side of the drivers side seat (right for pass.) that connects the seat belt to the floor. Know what I mean? You can hardly see it, and it is bolted to the floor. I think that the seatbelt is coiled up in it.

That was the X door bar that I recently removed (now it only has a single door bar as a normal 6 point bar does). With a normal 6 point bar, there is plenty of clearance. I have some other pics I will post when I find them.

here is a pic of my cage i got the one through steve sphoon only to find out wasnt made by him but buy sw racers or something like that, anyhow it turned out, but i did alittle custom job myself, and used it the best i could, only about a inch play between seat and new 4th gen door panels, not fun, when all u have is a stick welder, and you are by your self, anyhow i will try to take new pics tommorow

Anyone have roll bars that are hidden? Some that go up the sail panel area instead of seeing it between the seats and sails? Just wondering.
