Observation of summit

This really isen't a complaint about Summit, but more of an observation.
Heres my Order:
DATE: 01/04/05
Dear Customer-
Thank you for ordering from the Summit Racing Online Catalog!
Your order has been confirmed. Please note the following information:

Your Summit Racing ORDER # is: xxxxxxx
Your Summit Racing CUSTOMER # is: xxxxx

Charges for your order include the following:

Parts: $13.90
Handling: $8.95

Current charges to your credit card are:
$22.85
* Total does not include shipping.

$8.95 handling fee for $13.90 worth of parts? All I ordered was a T-shirt and a key chain. Thats absurd. *** forbid they break the forklift and strain their backs placing my items into the box.
Has anyone else had something like this happen to them?

I'm thinking that the charge does include shipping, despite what the email said. Anything I ever sent via UPS always had a minimum shipping charge of like $6.00. I ordered a catalog from another company one time that was like $10 and it cost just as much to ship. I've never had any problems from summit and would use them again.

Through summit, shipping is usually free. The always have a charge or $8.95 for handling on everything. This is the way it is on everything for me. The $8.95 seems good to me because I save a ton of money by buying from JEGS or SUMMIT. Of course everytime I order I buy like a couple hundred dollars in parts.

I orderd over 800 dollars wirth of stuff from them lastnight and I got charged the same things so I think its a standard fee of thiers. I know on an order like yours they are probably making money but on mine with all the stuff I ordered I they wont make as much because there is alot more to move to the shipping area as will as alot more wieght. Its just like a restocking fee anyone else charges you so I wouldnt worry about it or anything like that since it seems to be a set price.

Yeah, I always try to make my order count. I always try to order at least $100 or more at a time.

All you have to do is read before you buy. The shipping is always free unless you are ordering something so big that it needs freight delivery. Handling is always 8.95 no matter what you buy. They spell it all out quite clearly. I have never had problems with them at all. Spent well over 3K with them...

Unfortunatly shippings not free for me. I live in Canada. But oh well. I guess I'll remember next time;when I order my new et street radials hehe.
Other then that I think they have decent prices and one of the best catalog based websites.
