Pre Fabbed Fuel Lines
why doens't anybody make pre fabbed conversion fuel lines for swapping from TPI to HSR??? they got everythign else, why not the fuel lines?

This is something I ran into recently too.
But, if you go off the frame rail hard lines you can use an Earls straight to male -6an adapter (2), and then you can make your own fuel lines with -6an female to hose ends (4) and everything will bolt right up.
I spent about $100 for every thing. $50 of it was for the stainless steel braided hose, and the rest was for the aluminum -6an 90* swivel fittings.
The rest of the parts will be arriving this week and hopefully I will have the HSR on by the weekend for a dyno tune on the 16th.
I can get you all of the part numbers if you need them.

An allen key set becasue most all of the HSR bolts use a hex headed cap screw.
But the only thing required to assemble the hose ends and the hose is hack saw to cut the hose.

You will need angled shims, or "beveled washers" for the HSR if you have 87 heads or later with the 90* center bolts.
I'm still working out what size I need. I know I"ll need a .375 inner diameter washer, but I'm not sure if its the correct angle. And no one seems to have the measurements down. I should just call holley and be done with it.

I decided to post back up and show you my fuel lines. The rest of the fittings came today so I finally assembled the fuel lines.


Pictured is everything you need to run new SS braided lines from the factory frame-rail hard lines to the -6an male connectors on the HSR.
(4) SUM-220687 - these are the -6an female hose fittings with 90* swivel ends. These were $12.95ea
(1) EAR-9894DBHERL and EAR-9894DBJERL - These are the straight adapters I used to convert the frame rail hardlines to -6an male fittings. One fits over the 3/8th feed line, the other fits on the 5/16th return line.
(2) EAR-403006ERL - 3ft -6an braided stainless steel hose.
The red part of the hose ends screws counter clockwise onto the hose end, then the blue fitting has a tube which sits inside the fuel line, it has threads that screw in and compress the hose against the red casing. Sealing it tight.
Total cost was about $116 shipped from summit. It took me about 20 minutes to assemble the hoses once I figured out the best way to do it.

ohh, i see....mine was $120.56 ....i was kinda pissed at first cus 120 for fuel lines is a lot of money....but they look badass, so i'm pretty excited to get them...

Take the hose end of the fitting and screw it counterclockwise onto the braided hose, make sure all of the loose ends fit inside the opening. Then once the hose end bottoms out, take the other part of the fitting and push it into the hose, then screw it clockwise into the fitting. It should pull it together and seal it nicely.

opps..my bad...i didn't tell my dad that..he just did it by himself...but anyways...i went to put those saginaw's on today...one line is bigger than the other...after further investigation, it turns out the feed line is a 16mm and the return is 14mm...so i guess i gotta order a new fitting right? anybody got the part number on that real quick so i can get that ordered....because that is what I need right? a saginaw that is 16mm in, than 6an out right?..

EAR-9894DBJ from summit...is that the one? i don't think the picture is right, but it says fitting 2 is a female, and fitting 1 is a male...and thats what i need I believe...than it is 16mmx1.5...16mm to -6an...thats gotta be the one, i just wnat somebody to confirm that..

alright cancel that last question...i got it....that was all my fault, i didn't read the post close enough...i accidentally ordered 2 of the 14mm....i got the part number.......but one more question, these shims you were talking about....when and how do I use those?

The picture on summits site is wrong, it shows a fitting with two male ends. the metric to an conversion fittings have a female metric end, and a AN style male end.
Correct. 14mm is for the return (5/16th) line, and the 16mm part is for the feed (3/8th) line.
The shims are used to adjust for the angle of bolts. pre 87 heads have the holes drilled for 72* center bolts, but 87 and later heads have the 4 center bolts drilled at 9* I don't know if they are exactly whats needed, but McMaster is down the street, and the shims only cost me about $3 total. Well worth the try. If I find that they work perfectly I'll post up.
Just try to put the bolt in and tighten it down, you'll see Exactly how you need to place the spacers. It'll be plain as day.
Beleive me, once I have the stealthram on and working I will have a complete tech write-up with pics and everything.

okay, i got the new one ordered...but i don't see where the shims come into play.....maybe i'm missing something, but I don't see how the fuel lines come in any relation with the type of heads your running...

the shims he was talking about are for the center intake to head bolts (two each side) has nothing to do with the fuel lines

oh...well i got the intake on a long time ago, that was a past problem that I got figured out...sorry for the state of confusion there....that single saginaw came to like 18 bucks! that sucks you gotta pay a 9 dollar handling charge on everything...its my fault tho i guess...

I followed the parts list and ran into a problem above. 2 3 foot sections won't work, you need a 3 foot section and a 4 foot section. You'll have to buy a 6 foot section though because I could only find it in increments of 3 feet. You need 4 feet to reach the pass side rail from the "feed" hard line and 3 feet to go from the regulator on the driver side rail to the "return" hard line. If you route your fuel lines incorrectly by running the feed line to the driver's side rail 2 3 foot sections would work but then you'd blow out your regulator quickly.

I used straight connectors and only need 5 feed of line, so it cost me $50 + shipping.

All I could find on summit was 3 feet or 6 feet. I should have shopped around a bit it seems. I used the 90s like they recommended, though 45s might have been ideal. My main concern is that if people are using two 3 foot lengths it is because their fuel lines are routed incorrectly, with both the return and feed going to the driver side rail off the hard lines.

I gotta check what I did then, I ordered 5 feet of line and somehow ran my hoses properly (one to regulator, one to passenger side rail).
