throttle body doesn't fit hsr

Finally completing my project. The last item to install was my throttle body(1989) it doesn't come close to clearing the hsr fuel rail(driver side) 90 fitting. should i buy a throttle body from holley? will the 89-92 52mm holley throttle body fit with no mods? what about a throttle body spacer, i seen one at the summit site. What did everyone else do? thanks for any help.

I bent the throttle lever out a bit as others have done and it clears fine.

You can bend it as earlier stated, I took mine to a machine shop and had them grind off the inner guide for $30. I've also heard of folks grinding on the 90* adapter. You may need to adjust your cruise cable as well, mine kept the throttle from closing. Definately do not get a spacer, they're like $100 and you'll prolly have to replace some of your cables plus another gasket. Sweet IROC!!

i will try to grind the 90 elbow. I just found a deal on ebay for a 58mm accel tb so whatever it takes to get it to work. thanks for all the help! pmpn we have close to the same setups, I can't wait to get mine running!

Yeah, I wish I had a 6 speed... I can still spin them through third in OD, couldn't come close before the swap. I have a ton more torque (everywhere) now than stock TPI according to the butt dyno. You'll be happy with it. I have a bbk 58 mm TB and it still caught the elbow. I just dont like the idea of bending a part that rotates, plus those guides are unneccesarily tall. That really is a bitchin IROC, keep us posted how it comes along!
