I saw it for sale on here, but I have to keep my car California smog legal. If you can afford it I think it would look bad *** on your truck!

Re: SR base and runners with 8 Throttle bodies.... what do you think

This would be going on a 356ci 195afr, 224-230 .570s 112 cam with full bolt ons, LT headers full 3" single exhaust, built 700r4 with a yank 2800 stall and 3.73 rear in my 3700-4000lb truck. Should be a 2500-6000rpm setup. How do you guys think this will perform vs a SR with plenum? My SR has been ported pretty well but I'm going to open the base up more before I reinstall it.

Me? Form follows function. That's a lot of dough to spend on something "cool" only to find out they're no better than an HSR for power.

I see a lot of import guys do independent throttle bodies and it seems to work well for them. Of course, that's with an inline engine. Never seen it done on a V.

Re: SR base and runners with 8 Throttle bodies.... what do you think

With carburetors these are cool because you don't really compromise the signal using them due to the lack of plenum. From what I've read you get strong mid range to top end, but I'd guess that would depend on your CSA. You would likely have about as close to "ideal" as you are going to get for runners though. Should be very responsive even though it likely has over 2000 CFM of throttle body on it.

Running a MAP may be a bit fun on it, not 100% on that though. I'd really want to find someone who tuned one and ask, since the plenum "averages" the signal from each cylinder out.

Also, may have to recam to really take advantage of it. Then again it would probably be advisable to make a cam change with ANY significant intake alteration. There's a chance she'd run awesome with what you have though.

I havent looked at this one, but I think you could possibly connect a small vacuum line to each runner and run them into a common chamber and then read that volume with a MAP sensor. Basically you'd be building a signal filter ("Low-pass" I think). This may calm the map signal enough to be usable with an obd1 computer. Just an idea.

Re: SR base and runners with 8 Throttle bodies.... what do you think

I have done a few of these like this on sbfs with great results.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/289-302-331-...-/181056616510

I put one setup on a factory 5 kit car cobra with a 5.0 in it. It had a cobra intake gt40 heads and long tubes.
Put AFR heads and a intake like this. We picked up a ton of power all over and over 100peak rwhp.
