Hawks custom mini ram

Re: Hawks custom mini ram
Yeah, that's not a Miniram. The runners are too long. I agree with Tuned, it looks like a modified HSR.
They're covering all their bases in the title though... lol...
"85-92 Camaro Firebird TPI CUSTOM Intake Mini Ram Stealth Ram Edlebrock"
Except the center bolts won't fit on 87-92 iron head Camaros though without elongating the holes.
Injector boses are bonded on... looks like some sort of prototype for a HSR or something...

Re: Hawks custom mini ram
That's quite a Frankenstein. Looks like a tunnel ram intake with a lid welded on the plenum to make it forward facing. JB welding the injectors bungs instead of welding. Is there really not an off-the-shelf thermostat housing that required a welded one?

I see lots of rubber hose and worm gear clamps, quality work there

I don't think this is a Hawk's intake in that they made it. ...I think it's something on the shelf, might as well sell it on Ebay type of thing. If we know anything about Hawk's.....(and I'm a customer/supporter of theirs)....they ain't cheap. If they were really proud of this thing, the price would reflect it for sure!

Re: Hawks custom mini ram
Regardless of how it looks, and the finish work, there's no arguing it would work just well as the rest of the tunnel rams on the market

Re: Hawks custom mini ram
better fittings.. fuel lines..and more time taken to set up the outside.. finish the welding..i don't see why not...its a good start..just needs a better finish/completion
theTPIS mini ram is way over priced for what it is ($800)..lol we all know that..
and if ya have any skill..ya can make one your self..ballpark anyway..the one I did I made to top plate removable..and left out the bungs for a fitech set up..but can make any top and add bungs at anytime...just want to see how things work on a big BBC.
aluminum is easy to work with...
