Swirl Mark Remover coming back??
About 3 weeks ago, buffed my car with 3M Swirl Mark Remover and thought I removed it all. Today I washed my car, and theres quite a few spots where the SMR is still there, like it came back or something. Is there any way to get it out? Should I re-buff with rubbing compound or something? Any tips are appreciated, I want to get it done today if possible. Thanks guys.

Well I just went ahead and buffed it with 3M Rubbing Compound. It all came off, but my swirl marks are still there. I'm getting really frustrated. I think when I get my front nose painted I'll just have the shop get the swirls out.

If your car is the dark one on your post you WILL get swirl marks with rubbing compound. If you're talking about 3M "Fill-n-Glaze" ....this is actually an awesome product but you might try some "mist" type wax after you apply it to remove the film.
The body shop will use a 3 step process:
Compound
Machine Glaze
Hand Glaze
Followed by you waxing the car.
Really the most important thing is the cloths you are using to detail your car. Use a soft flannel or buy a professional 3M detail cloth. Most swirls come from people using the wrong cloths over the years.

Swirl marks will appear if you're not cleaning with the right kind of cloth, those marks are just small scratches.

I wash it wish a sponge that never gives me problems and I dry with the California Water Blade. Like I said, these aren't caused my what I usually wash/dry with. It was the one time I tried the "foaming brushes" at the DIY car wash over the winter that caused the swirls.
