27$ in car care - what should I get?
I've got 27$ right now that I can spend on car care stuff. What do you think I should get? I've got meguiars 'quik wax' right now. I'm thinking about a claybar and the quik detailer if I can afford both. What do you guys think? Anyone recomend anything that is killer I should try? I've got this stuff already...
armorall(gots to have the armorall
)
Nevr-Dull
Mother Aluminum wheel polish
Eagle One wheel cleaner(forgot which one)
miscellaneous gunk cleaning stuff that tends to not work
Any suggestions? Right now I use the turtlewax carwash soap. Is there a noticeable difference in the kind of soap you use? Besides using like dishwashing soap or something(i don't do that, by the way)....

Mark: I was reading about people's horror stories when they use the claybar. Like some say it takes ALOT of the lubricant stuff to keep it from sticking to the paint, and if it does, it leaves dull spots of haze and streaks that are hard as heck to get off. Another person said that they used it and it worked great... came back about 10 minutes later and clay just appeared all over his car. They say that the meguiars claybar sucks, and to get the mothers instead.
What's your technique? Any opinions or suggestions?

I used the Mother's clay bar, they should all be the same CLAY, just be sure it's well lubricated, should slide back and forth easily, once you feel some resistance respray.
Try and get "Clay Magic" from Autozone. It's supposed to be good. I clayed a car last summer with just water as a lubricant. I used a wash mit full of water and kept the area very wet. No problems. If the clay sticks to the car, use the clay bar to remove it.
As for the ArmorAll, throw it in the garbage. Armorall has alcohol in it which draws out the natural oils in the dash and plastics. They eventually crack if Armorall isn't used consistantly. 3M has a paste product that works great and doesn't attract dust.
I would use the Meguire's products. Best bang for the buck.
