2 months after paint job...
I'm wondering whether 2 months is long enough to wait after having my car painted to start putting my car cover back on it...Let me know what you guys think....

What's that you say...two months is enough time before waxing? My body shop told me 3 months, that's why I was wondering about the cover. Thanks guys.

Just had my hood painted in mid march and my guy said wait another month on waxing. Its better to be safe than sorry. You can't wax because you need to give the paint enough time to let any solvents left cure. My car is in a carport, so he felt it needed more time than a car that has been in the sun.
As far as a cover. I would ask your shop. It would need to be very clean and breathable. I would think the paint would be hard enough though.

I've always heard that it was a 3 month waiting period before you can wax it due to curing of the paint.
I do some body and paint work, help out local shop that has been in business for 30 years, if it is painted right it can be waxed in a weeks time. Mine was color sanded and buffed 6 times and waxed within 2 days after paiting a show car finish, 5 years later the paint is still as good as the day it was painted. Paint will still cure even after applying wax. Thought I would throw that in, the faster a wax job is on a paint job the quicker the paint job is protected from elements.
I heard it's about two-four weeks for waxing. I believe there was big talk about this on Ls1.com because people were wanting to use zaino but were unsure when they could. I believe it was sal who said you don't have to wait nearly as long as you once did. Paint today dries much quicker than the old style paint they used to use. The wait 3 months has just carried over since then,
