Jaguar Alloys
I've just bought some 17s for my Camaro. The wheels are from a Jaguar (no Chevy wheel dealers in England) and while the stud pattern is the same, the offset is different. The wheels sit in the arches a little bit too far and sometimes the front ones rub when I turn corners.
I've tried contacting Jaguar, but they can't tell me the offset of the wheels. Does anyone here know the offset for the Camaro Z28?

Okay, here we go......
How wide are the wheels you have? The stock 16" wheels are 8 inches wide. The factory offset is Zero. This means that if you measure from the backside of wheel lip to the mounting surface, you should come up with 4 inches.
If you have a 9 inch wide wheel, you want to run about 5 inches of backspacing so the wheels don't stick out of the fenders.
The factory wheels for your car are actually slightly different from front to rear, but most of us run all four wheels the same. It makes the rear wheels sit abour 1/2" wider, but it's not obvious.
Do a little measuring and get back to us.
For more help check out the Skulte web page. They specialize in ThirdGens and their wheel adapters are popular on this site. They have a bunch of 'standard' spacers , and can custom make most any size.

The car is in storage at the moment and I hope to go see her real soon to do some measuring.
In the meantime, the car currently sits on the stock 15s.
I have heard from somewhere that if I measure the distance from the inner rim to the mounting surface on both sets of wheels, the difference should give me the size of spacer/adapter to get. Is this the case? Also, am I right in saying that you have to halve the difference to compensate for each side?
Apologies for the dumb-ness, would appreciate any answers in dumb language also!

Due to a lack of scanner/digital camera, I'm somewhat limited in the picture department. Here are all the pics I have of the stock wheels.

New to this board so if they don't work you can see them here:

No pics at the moment, but will be getting hold of a photo scanner in the next couple of weeks so I'm off today to get hold of a few rolls of film for my camera.
1991tealRSt-topGuy : You'd be surprised how many times! The place the car is currently stored at is called the Robin Hood Coachworks. I live 5 mins from Sherwood Forest Road, Robin Hood Street, 10 mins from the Robin Hood bar, 15 from the Robin Hood railway station and just a stone's throw away from Maid Marion Avenue. crA-Z.
5SIZ...yea they are pretty nice rims. 235/45ZR17s in a nice 6 spoke. Soon, my friends.......soon!
