Formula 113 vs Meguires?
Formula 113 vs Meguires?
I used the formula 113 and it worked great, and did everything they said it would.
The thing is, this was the first time I ever waxed my car, so i don't have anything to compare it to.
Has anyone used formula 113, and also used meguires(either the 3 step system or the Cleaner wax)?
I plan on buying meguires cleaner wax and detail spray and using it on my other car to compare the shine/durability/and ease of use.
Just wondering if anyone else has any insight??

I love Meguiar's. I have numerous pics from using it, if you want I can post them. I'm still waiting for the 113 wax. The only thing that I can say, is Megs is a hell of a lot cheaper.
Mark, it would be great if you could post your most impressive Meguires picture.
Also which meguires do you use.
Some of the things that impress me most about formula 113 besides the shine is the fact that you can put it on just about anywhere, and all you need is a towel.
It also doesn't leave powder or dust and you can use it on any suface, including my iroc stickers on the door
How does the meguires compare in that respect?

hey i used miguriers and now im thinkin of paying the money for the 113. i used the sample kit and g o d did it work great. went on easy and came off easy as hell. im thinking of callin the number that the guy gave out to become a dealer of this stuff. the only thing that kills me is the price but its worth it.

OK, there will be quite a few pics, so hold on. I used Steps 1-3, and started with a clay bar. This first shot is only using Megs Gold Class.

Some more. I'm not saying Megs is better than 113, I've never tried it, but I was very happy with Megs 1-3, especially for the price.Even the dent looks good in this pic.

1 coat formula 113, put on in the middle of the sun by hand
I have used meguires and zaino and mothers. This stuff is way easier to put on and take off then mewguires or mothers. Its actually shines just like 4-5 coats of zainow ith only 1 application.

Mark, the pictures look great.
How easy is it to maintain that shine?
Do you use the wax touch-up or the detailer spray?
How long does the wax last and still bead up water?
Sorry to ask so many questions, but I just want to know if the formula's worth $20 a bottle, or if I'll have just as good of luck with the meguires that I can get easier for less $$$$.
Micheal Prisco, if you read this, feel free to chime in and let me know what the differences in products here are.
I'll pay extra for quality, I just need to know what I'm getting.
Thanks for the replies so far.

I thought the 113 was like $50 a bottle, if it's only $20, that's not bad.
I can't really tell you about the durability of the Megs 1-3, when I put it on, I left the car at home while I went back to college and wasn't able to wash it or anything.

I usually use Maguires Gold class and then follow it up with a coat of show car glaze. I put on a coat of the formula 113 and couldn't really tell a difference in the shine of the two waxes. However i did notice one thing, that the 113 seems to be lasting a hell of a lot longer. I put it on over three weeks ago, and its been through several rain storms, and still looks good. that more than i could ever have siad about the meguires.
Between the gold class and the glaze, the meguires ends up being very close in price to the 113, so i might be making an order soon........

This is a pic of the Meguire's Gold Class on my Olds.
I personally like the shine and feel of the Gold Class, but it doesn't last very long. I just received my order Formula 113 today and will try it.
Here's a pic of my 93. This is a Zaino shot. I am not impressed. Remember that any clean black car will give a good reflection.
And here's a shot of Wizard's Shine Master applied in April with photo taken in June. I already redid the car with Meguire's Gold Class yesterday!!

Scott, pictures work fine. Nice selection of vehicles, good taste!!
The formula 113 worked great on my IROC, pictures posted in the Midwest Forum. Check them out if you want. I'm very happy with Michael's product and highly recommend it.

I just tried accessing my website. That's twice in the last week that the personal webservers are down. I think it's time to move!!!!! Give 'em time and the pictures will be available again. Sorry
Hi Fellas, I have just found this thread. The difference between the 113 and a 3 step like mothers or maguires is this. After purchasing all 3 of the products your going to spend about $20.00 anyway. You will have to do your car 3 times with those systems. The car will
good but you just broke your azz.
The 113 will work better and will leave a better shine with 1 application not 3. I personally think that those 3 steps are a waste of time, well maybe not a waste of time but the 113 is easier to use.
Has anyone tried the 113 on an old car with oxidation?? has anyone used there beadx yet, ON GLASS ITS KILLER

Hey Mike, glad you responded.
How does the formula 113 compare to meguires and other companies 1 step cleaner wax's?
Is there a different ingredient that makes it work that much better?
I think I was one of the first(if not the first) person to use my free samples, and I also placed a $95 order, so I'm obviously very impressed with your products, and even considering becoming a dealer, I just want to know what makes the big difference.
Thanks.
Oh, and please be as specific as you can without giving any secrets away, as far as what makes your product so much better than the rest. Do you use ????? instead of ??????, or more of ????? than the other guys, or what?

Thats tough to answer with out giving away a secret. But I will say this better ingredients make a better wax. Also the formula113 is made 110 gallons at a time like a micro brewed beer.
Micro brewed beer gives a better taste and better BUZZ!
THE FORMULA 113 GIVES A BETTER SHINE. Shine is what we are looking for when waxing. And as yo already know! It leaves that paint looking deep and wet.
