S-10 Xtreme Rims, what lip do I need to grind to get them to fit?

Got my 16x8" S-10 Xtreme Rims in the mail....now I want to put them on my car (to go with my new paint!), but everyone says there is a lip I need to grind off in order for them to fit properly....can someone describe/show me where this lip is, and what the best way to grind it off is?

might want to try a search for the wheels, and when you find a pic, PM them. people with the wheels might not see this post, so you might have to track them down.

well, I can only think of one other person on here that has them, and I tried sending them two e-mails (as they don't accept PMs)...

so what now?

Well, the bolt pattern is the same, but I am sure the backspacing is not. Try and bolt one on the car and that should give you a rought estimate of the back spacing you need.

I vaguely recall someone saying they had these wheels.

IIRC, they had to grind down the lip on the Control Arms up front because of the way the wheel is designed, and due to the backspacing.

The only other thing I can think of where a lip may be is on the inside of the center hub. Maybe that steel shim that's on the rear of our cars (for the stock 16" wheels anyway) has trouble sitting against the hob of the Extreme wheels because of some lip on them?

If you haven't already, try posting this on the Suspension board. You may get a few more responses there.
