How much for my car?

Ive currently decided to sell my 91 camaro rs, to pay off some medical bills, and the fact that its hard to get out of these bills when you drive a hot rod that gets proably about 11 mpg in the city. My friend keeps on offering me prices like 3 grand for it, which I think is too low, just wanting some opinions on what you think my ride is worth. The car has fresh paint, the paint is about 2 years old, the body has 130k on it. It has a tci 700r4 with a 2500 stahl, richmond 4.10 gears in the back. A 96 rebuilt 350 with a lunati cam, holley system max alluminum heads, holley street dominator intake, msd 6al, msd wires, msd blaster 2 coil, msd probillet distrubtor. The motor and trans have less than 10k miles on them. Chrome iroc-z wheels. Heres some pics of the car, that im sure most of you have seen there about a year old the pics, the car looks exactly the same, probably only put on 300 miles on it this year.

That's a hard call.....

You'll have a better chance and higher price if you sell it to an enthusiast....cause to most people it's an old car........

Any chance you'd sell those rims?

For the car, I'd say $6000

Where did that come from?

Unfadeable: an object that cannot fade.

I'd have to say $7k minimum. I would take what your friend offered as an insult.

I know what I have into my car, and I've done some similar mods, cept my paint is old, and I don't have chrome rims. And there's no way I could sell mine for $3k even if I hated my car.

You got to look at it this way, the really isn't old, new motor, new trans, rebuilt rear, that's just like getting a new car.

I believe I'd tell my friend to leave me alone. 3k is way too low for that car. I wouldn't takeless than 6 or 7k for it. Possibly even 8k.

Why have you decided to sell your nice car?

Thank you guys for all of your help. I was thinking the same thing that my freind was crazy, I was thinking about putting it in the paper or on ebay auction, i was gonna list it for 8k, but would probably take less. I love the car and its going to be hard to part with. I just love the faces you get when you take out a spoiled brat with his new ls1 or cobra. As for the rims metallicamaro I might be willing to part with them if I sell the car and the person doesnt want to pay as much as id like for the car, id probably do a swap of rims for a lil cash. As far as team unfadeable pardon me, you ve probably seen my budys car, its another built up rs, except its a 92 and its purple. Team unfadeable is the name of our race team, we love to bracket race up at 41 and do some test and tunes at route 66. Me and my freind started it, I came up with the name, cause of a stupid quote I used to use, saying to others "you cant fade this" when people would try and pic races with my car. Heres a pic of the car, thanks again everyone

You can get the 16'' rims out a Chevy Magazines for $1200. Though if you just have them dipped, if you already have the rims, it will be cheaper.

I saw your car once on LaGrange "Unfadeable". It was parked and it looked Oh so sweet. Why not just by a beater for the "gas milage runs" and keep the RS. If you sell don't take less than $7000.00. Your friend if you want to call him that is trying to steal your car because he is close to your situation.

Anyone know how much it would cost to dip those rims and "Mettalli " if you find somewhere around the house let me know. Maybe we could get a 2 for 1 deal.

Hey metallic if you want a nice set of chrome irocs dont spend the money to get them diped, mine are 16s, I got them from chuck everly (another thirdgen member) but you can get yourself a brand new set for 800 at performancewheeloutlet.com. As far as getting a beater I already have one its an 88 toyota mr2 that gets about 30 mpg, it just keeps on breaking down on me now, basically unreliable, and if I lose my job cause of a car again, ill go nuts! but if I dont get what I want for my ride id probably end up keeping it. Hey pardonme, whats your name I probably know ya if you you know chris tishka, me and him are real good friends. What kind of fbody do you drive? Oh yes could anyone thats good with photoshoping come up with a sweet pic for my sig, im no good with photoshoping. Id appreciate it =)

Thirdgens are regarded as just old cars, not classics. If you sold your car for $7,000, it may take a while to sell because there are only a few people that would be willing to pay that price for a thirdgen. If you sold it for around $3500 - $4000 you might be able to sell it within a month or less. $3,000 may sound low, but unfortunately it is true since 82-92 Camaros are in no way rare. Only you and fellow thirdgen owners will understand the real value of your car. Personally, I would not buy it for $7000. I like thirdgens a lot, but I would not like to own another one.

4000 to $5000 is reasonable.A car is not worth what you put into it except to you.Unless you find someone who wants that car and the stuff you have already done. For $7000-8000 I could by a camaro with a nice body,do all the stuff you did and have money left over for gas and alot of other things.I see this asked all the time and its easy to look around at for sale boards, ebay and other places to see that cars much nicer and with half the milage of yours dont bring that much money. It is nice, but there is alot of nice ones out there selling for much cheaper.I say keep it and sell the yota to pay some bills.

I saw a 91 camaro rs, with 305 and power and mint body/paint, 80K selling for $5,100. I pulled up in my car which is a 92 camaro rs same color with stripes, 180K, V6, needs work. I am like you know what I paid? $1,000, and I can rebuild the car drop in a 350 and still shell out less than what he wanted for that car.

Building your dream is definitely cheaper than the price of buying a car already hooked up. Which scared me, and makes me believe I probably never will sell my car when its done.
