Im not sure about your area, but 99% of places have a law against red lights on the front of a vehicle.

I could just imagine the fines......
impersonating a police car $$$$

just a thought

That's right. I would not turn them on until you turn into an alley or parking. So if you are going to Burger King to get some of those delicious French Toast sticks, turn the neons on when you turn into the Burger King lot so that the police won't hassle.

If you can't have lights like that on the front of the car than what is up with all these ricers and other such cars with the little blue or green bulbs on the hood....near the windshield wipers.....

Anyone have any idea what Im talking about. They are tiny bulbs that ar usually on the hood near the windshield....

I don't like them and think that they would get you in just as much trouble as the neons under the vens of your Firebird.

I think what you are referring to are the led windshield washer fluid lights. Our cars have a unique wet blade technique where the washer fluid is applied directly to the windshield wiper blades, which reduces the amount of fluid used. I don't like them myself. They sound like a gimmick.

but I've never seen a red neon that actually shines RED red.
i have one, and guess where i got it?? Wal mart, it was reallllly cheap so i said what the hell i'll buy one and it shines a deep red, looks pretty cool actually.

Also, the LED;s you are referring to, the ricers call "snakeyes". My friend wanted them soooo bad, he drilled a hole in his hood and popped them in. It's pretty sad, but i must say i assisted in doing this, BUT, i told him that this was his idea and i take NO responsibility in the whole thing. Belive it or not he doesn't regret it he loves it, but during the day he looks like a deuschbag with two sets of washer fluid sprayers, seeing there are two in the cowl already but hey the "snakeyes" match his underbody neons perfectly

Nice nose!

Here's my camaro with blue neons, and red repeaters hidden in the grill. I also have red neons through the cover panel under the hood. (i.e. the cover panel between the front of the hood and the hood catch. It's a couple of small vents, but looks nice at night.)

Sort of. I had a craving for those French Toast Sticks at Burger King. They were so delicious that I forgot what gear I put my car in and speed out of the parking space in reverse onto the sidewalk and almost into traffic. Those Damn French Toast sticks are dangerous.

I got a vanilla shake one day. Nothing unusual. I went to the park to drink it and I could not get any through the straw. It was super thick. I took the lid off to taste and it tasted funny. I dumped the shake down the creek that was in the park and I saw some pink stuff on the bottom of the shake after I poured it out. I just watched it float down the creek hitting rocks and sticks. It was 90 degrees that day and that milkshake was not breaking apart or anything. What the hell was in the milk shake to make it stay together like that and still survive heat, humidity, fast flowing stream, and obstacles?

I am sure that Mc Donalds standards have improved since then.

The point of the French Toast Sticks is that they can be a distraction, much like the neons, not to you but to other drivers. I have to admit that it does look cool. That is a lot of light eminating from the front.

i know red lighting on the front of the car is illegal, but i don't think it's because it "impersonates a police officer", i think the real reason is that it looks like tail lights, think about it if your cruising at night, you see some red lights, "oh tail lights, i better follow him he must know where he's going cause i sure don't" and BAM, head-on collision.

On old country roads I sometimes have trouble seeing where I am going so I follow tailights.

I would never install neons in my GTA, I guess I'm to old fashioned, but I don't think it looks too bad, kinda creative if you ask me.

Forward facing red lights are illegal on any car that is not an emergency vehicle (fire truck, ambulance, police car, etc).

Forward facing blue lights are illegal on anything but police cars.

I think all other colors are legal... but I think some states actually have a law that limits the number of forward facing lights allowed on cars. I also think in most states, neons mounted in a way that you can see the tubes lit up are illegal.

So the bright, blinding headlights wouldn't clue you in? Worst case I would assume it was somebody backing up towards me!

I have been told red & blue are restricted to "emergency" vehicles only. I have had a cop stop me for the red turnsignals. This is when being female helps. I can play stupid pretty well in those instances. See you blame it on the darn import guys doing it, so I had no clue it was wrong. And it looks so pretty on my red car. So far so good!

I don't use my neons on the street, they're strictly for in the car park/cruise..etc. events. the reason the front shines so far out under the front, is that I have a polished aluminium air dam.

here's one from the rear, with a blue and red mix.

I usually would never think of mixing colored neons, but that red/blue deal is sweet!

fyrelance,

Thanks for the compliment. The red isn't actually neon. In the Uk we have to have rear fogs in red. So I fitted some custom chrome fogs that I can flip over under the car to filter the blue a little.
