license plate pains

my crappy state requires a front plate on all cars. i been gettn hastled about this alot, cause i dont display one (allthough i dont see anyone else getn pulled over for this) when i bought the car it had the front plate on it, but it looked terrible. it stuck out like a sore thumb. any one got pics or ideas on how to install the front plate that doesnt look like crap? i dont like the stock setup, but i need to do something. i had it in the windshield, which if you read the state manual, falls within the state guidelines. i went to court twice on this, and i won one and lost one. the judges cant even come together on this. please help.

Where i am at in ohio we have two tone sand and biege color plates right now and they look pretty good with my maroon GTA. The new plates are red, white and blue and they look hideous. We are gonna hev to chnge soon so then I am just going to the front windshield plate.

When I had my Camaro, I put my plate inside stuck to the windshield with suction cups. Not sure if they'll hassle you about that in Oregon though. That's the best place I could think of for mine.

that's really the only option, unless you wanna throw it in the windshield......

There really isn't anywhere else to mount it.......

yeah, i have the new bicentennial plates on my 84 (i'm from ohio)

http://robertg.netfirms.com/camaro/camaro2.jpg

goes pretty well with the red on the car as it sits.

i'm not too fond of the front plate law for ohio, and ordered a dealer camaro plate (looks like an iroc grille's camaro lettering). if i get hassled about it, i'll put the front plate back on.

How about this idea.... I use it myself...

Take the front plate and glue or whatever some elastic straps to the back side. Then place the plate on the passenger side visor. That way when you drive, you just pull it down and there it is in the window... plain as day... it's in plain sight and they can't hassle you for not showing it. I stopped get'n the "MAN" on my back that way.

I have had my car here in MN for 5 years now, and I have never had the front plate displayed anywhere, law does require it though. As of right now it is under the passenger seat. I guess I have just been lucky for the cops not to notice the three times I have been pulled over. I say leave it off, it looks better that way.

trust me i know how it is i refuse to put mine in the front of my car it kills the clean look bigtime. so i will just keep getting the ticket and fight it. just stick it in your window better then the front.

yeah, if i dont do anything about it the same cop can pull me over. lucily the first time i got stopped it was an hour and a half from home. the second time was a state cop in town who pulled me over cause i am not favored in my area. i look like trouble i guess. its been mounted with double stick tape for about two years. according to the law book which states
(front plate must be perminently mounted to the front of the vehicle and visible from, well im not sure what it said about distance)
im my opinion and at least one judge it is leagle. i guess the windshield it is. the ticket is $75 if i loose. ive had the car 5 years with two tickets for that infraction, thats not too bad i guess

I think its BULL$HIT!!!

why have a front plate anyway... even lets say something like a hit and run.... who the hell is going to be in front of a car about to be run over and be like... "whats that plate number??? IROC 87??? No I don't think so... it would be more like... "I'm jump the hell out of the way!!!" then look to see....

I just don't see the point of a front plate and why are not all 50 states the same when it comes to this? Seems like more money for those of us in states that require two plate to spend more money to the state. POLITICS!!! *****'em
