If it doesn't burn off on the drive back to the paint shop, then make them pay for some new ones.......

If it's not baked on there too much SOS pads will take it right off. Just make sure you keep the SOS pad wet and soapy.

Don't worry, it will not hurt the metal.

Whats up kskid how are ya? Sorry I never got a hold of you I got really busy with school and then lost your email. Where did you take your car to get painted? I would go right back and either they take the paint off or you send them a bill for new tips.

That's stupid why they didn't mask your tips off....that's usually one of the first things I do when we paint cars. They should buy you a new set......you could remove the paint with some lacquer thinner.....then apply a coat of wax when the paint has been removed.......

I can vouge for the laquer thinner. Before I painted my SC at this old mans shop, his nephew painted his truck bannana yellow and neglected to move my car from behind the shop in direct flow of fans blowing out overspray So the whole hatch glass needed to be cleaned and the nephew fixed it with a rag and Laquer thinner while I watched

i would have taken it back if it was a professional shop that did it... my dad works at O'rielly's auto parts and he had the paint guy there do it. i'm not complaning at all since i got about a $3,000 paint job done for $1,000. good ol dad picked up some aircraft remover for me to take it off with, i was reading the labels and crap and it sounds like its probably going to kill me. anyway thanks for the ideas, once i get a website to post pics on i'll put the car on here. the guy also didnt put it back together, i took almost everything off that needed to be taken off for painting and he took off more and i'm going to spend today putting my freakin car completly back together and cleaning it and buffing the rubbing compound out fo the crevases... GRRRRR! ohwell i like it

Ya'll are a dangerous klan. "Just tie it to a tree and hang them. Then spray 'em with some sufuric acid. That ****'ill come right of there."

You don't need all those 'fun' chemicals. An SOS pad will do it.

Remind me to never **** some of you off our I might be takin' a bath in acetone.

haha and where can i pick up some sulferic acid? i could always raid the chemestry lab at school... i'm using that aircraft remover junk, its doing an ok job i guess. i wish i could spray it out of a bottle. what can i do to my exhaust tips to liven them up a bit? they are new but not chrome... and they are turndowns. i found out scratching them up a bit makes them shiny.

i got my car back from the shop and found they did a half a$$ed job of masking the pipes. The tips are like 18 inches long and they only masked about 6 inches worth. So i took some blue magic metal polish on steel wool and cleaned em up nicely to where they get welded to the pipes coming out. Then i got some 1500* aluminum exhaust paint and did the rest of the pipes. I dont reccomend using steel wool on crome tips, mine are polished stainless.
