18" IROCs, chrome vs. polished
Anybody out there have pictures of the polished aftermarket IROC rims? Every detailed photo I've been able to find appears to be chrome, Thanks

Sorry I have no pics. As for the VS part
Polished rims have to be cleaned regulary to keep the shine while you can let the chromes get filthy and just have to was them off and retain the shine.
If a chromed rim gets scratched or curb checked then its basically unfixable unless you have it stripped and rechromed. Where as the polished can be fixed if you have scratches in it and if gets curbed checked it can be fixed much eaiser than sending it off to be stripped and rechromed. Unless you take a chunk off of the rim to where its unfixable with out having to be welded up.

Thanks, but I've had a number of cars (non Chev) with polished aluminum rims and I know how much attention they need, but these are for an IROC vert that is only driven on weekends.
Chrome is still very cool in an old school sort of way but I have always thought aluminum had a "techier" look to it.
I was mostly concerned about the quality of the casting and the polish job that is delivered.
Thanks.

It really depends on the polisher, check out my site www.geocities.com/polishinginc/ and look at my Z28 rim. I can polish rims reall good and many other things, ask Ions91Z28, Bimma86. The casting was pretty good on mine and I've had no problems with any bad casting on it. How much of the rim are you wanting polished? The outside ring and the stars or the triangle parts too?

When I have them delivered I don't want to do any polishing.
Any polishing would be maintenance only.
To clarify; I am purchasing new, aftermarket 18 inch IROC style aluminum wheels, a multitude of sins can be hidden with chrome,I would like to hear from those who have purchased, or better yet see close up photos of both the polished and chromed wheels.
