how much am i looking at....

my car has very minor surface rust in some places around the wheels but i want to get that taken care of. my car i white and it is pretty dull looking. i havent tried waxing it yet or anything but i was wondering if i were to take it to a paint shop (not maaco or earl scheib) how much would i be looking at for a decent quality paint job? if waxing will get it to shine and look white when parked next to a new white car then i dont want to pay alot for a paint job.

another question is how much of a difference does waxing make on paint?

im in the market for a paint job as well. if you want a quality showroom job it will be around 1800-2500. if you just want a good job that will last you around a year or two then go to maaco and it will cost around4-500 hundred.

second waxing your car insures that little things like grease dirt and such stay off your car. if youhave waxed your car before you will notice that the wax forms almost a protective layer. they guard a good paint job.

you may want to try some bondo and a get your car buffed. it may help you in the long run. depends on how much green you want to dish out

if i can get my car to shine a bit more without resorting to painting it then that is what i want to do....

someone please explain this to me....
i always hear that maaco and scheib only last a year or two.....what exactly do u consider lasting?

and if they are so bad then why do they offer warranties?

Heres a trick I learned from buying old cop cars that were white...

Get some Wesley's Bleach White for white wall tires. Hose the car down and spray on the bleach white and rub it in good with a rag. BE CAREFUL this stuff is powerful and could cause skin irritation. Work one panel at a time and rinse it off when you're done.

Afterwards wash the car real good with Dawn dishwashing soap. Dry it off and polish it then put on a coat of good wax. You will be amazed at how this will make a white car look. It will look like new when you're done.

Do you think your capable of painting your car yourself? I spent almost 400.00 to paint my car but that was with a 1 stage paint not a base coat clear coat job. Try some formula113, that will make the ole paint shine again. f113 is a great product for quaility and cost

I am spraying my car myself...I spent $500 on paint, and pearle.... But $500 not bad for a gallon 2000 Dodge White ,1 can pearle, enough hugger orange for racing stripes and clearcoat!
