I only like 1:18 and larger car models. I like the more realistic wheels. The Z is small, but it looks ok.

This thread will stay open for now because he is showing off his thirdgen model that he built. The Homies figures were just thrown in to "accentuate" . However, everyone needs to keep the fighting out of this thread. Flames will get the post locked even if it is on topic.

Heh OMG that's the coolest model ever... you go into almost every detail. A couple of those shots could seriously pass as being a real thirdgen if someone wasn't looking for it... even the interior shot.

And that's about the cleanest engine bay I've ever seen!

what do you use to do the fine detailing on the models?

i mean spraying the body is a piece of cake, but doing the lights and **** is hard as hell!!!! i bought a testor's enamel kit with a brush, and it turned out so crappy it's not funny

you got any pointers?

That model is awesome. I would suggest aound the side windows...painting those contoured parts black like the weather stripping. That is the only really obvious thing I saw that makes it not look real. You added some incredible detail, I'm loving it!

Yep. In time. Like I said Im cutting the door still so tey will open.

As for the lights.. I had to drill out out the housingd, goto radio shack find the right lights and wire it all up myself. and It still not done... side markers, rear and dome still need finished.

Good luck finding another. They pop up on ebay now and then. I have one more in a box in my basement. But thats already spoken for to a buddy if he gets off his *** and sends me my parts.....

My goodness thats alot of detail. Looks very real. The most detail I've seen is on a 1/10 british car with the fuel lines and spark plug wires labeled.

don't think he replied to anyone because he never contacted me either. I was the first one that posted my e-mail asking about them and nothing!

Sweet models, want to do one of my car for shows and stuff, would be pretty sweet. Never saw a 91/92 vert model or any 3rd gen vert model.

you guys that are into putting together models, give me some tips. I have a 1969 and 2002 camaros , made by Revel 1/25th scale that I want to put together.

I have never put together a model before so any tips you can share even if it seems obvious, would help me out.

Also does the brand of paint matter? I was going to get the Testors brand from Walmart.
What about a spray gun? Walmart also has one of those By Testors, that one any good?

I've used testors and plasti-coat...I've never had any problems with it. I've used automotive paints...primers and clears...and they seem to like "eat" the plastic......like some kind of reaction or something. When I paint my models....I do everything to them like doing to a real car.....wet sand the base color....clear it...wetsand the clear...then buff.....it's really not to hard to do...just gotta watch how deep you sand....

When I paint my models....I do everything to them like doing to a real car.....wet sand the base color....clear it...wetsand the clear...then buff.....it's really not to hard to do...just gotta watch how deep you sand....
I was about to say the exact same hing. Auto paint will eat the body parts. etc..

and I wetsand coat and clear all my stuff also.
