I am considered a pack rat, I save alot of my old stuff, then after a few years, it finally gets tossed. Luckily though, I have saved alot, since I am re-building another 3rd gen and it making it much cheaper and easier on me !!!

well, I havent been saving my stuff....I mean why would I want all the stuff laying around...springs, interior panels, shifter, trims pieces, engines stuff.....why would you want all that laying around.....to put it back on? why take it off in the first place?..
I mean I know im not going to sell my car and if I bought an other one I would either buy it all stock or modded out...
I always just end up sellin it...I have not use for it..
what usually happens is I buy some after market part or piece or some interior peice and then sell what I replaced and end up not spending as much for the new part...thats like with my interior, I changed it from red to black for nothing...

I'm another packrat lol, still have the stock intake, exhaust manifolds, a/c system and various other things that I've taken off the car. Once it starts getting in the way I'll sell it or toss it out.

I have been debating on whether or not to sell my TPI stuff when I put the LT1 on, I think I'm gonna keep it though.

I bought a parts car a year and a half ago... kept a lot of the stuff to try selling in the local paper, managed to sell a lot of it (made back 90% of the price). My brother just picked up an 84 berlie & a lot of my old stuff ended up on his car.
In the end I get rid of my old stuff

I was a pack-rat, until I moved. Eighteen years' accumulation of crap in one location is enough. What's scary is that I could remember everything I looked at before I tossed it. Sadly, I'm starting again (already).
eBay and other aution services can be great for unloading some of that kind of stuff, if you have the time to pack/ship/and deal with the auctions.

If stuff isn't broken I'll save it. Just in case whatever mod I do dosnt work out and I want to revert back to how it was before. But if the part is broken or way way old then I'll get rid of it (give it away or sell it). I dont have enough storage room to keep everything.

That's a funny question. I seem to be stock piling all the old parts that I replaced or ugraded. Some of those parts I think I may need later and other parts I keep as backups. That stuff adds up fast and I run out of space to store that stuff.
At home, when I put my GTA wheels on, I had to put my old rims under my bed. Now, I try to get rid of anything I absolutely don't need, which keeps the storage places nice and clean.

as soon as i know that the new parts are gonna work and be ok, i sell the old parts to help pay for more new mods...i went to a city auction and spent 75$, what i won consisted of basically a torn down 88ta, it had a complete 305tpi engine, 5spd tranny, posi rear end, fenders, gauges, all sorts of stuff and i sold all of that and made almost 1k off of it..i still have the rearend if anyones interested...
anytime i get the chance to buy stuff real cheap and sell it i do, it all works out better in the end and the car gets new and better stuff.

I used to sell the old stuff, but a lot of it I keep now. I used to say"I'll never sell this car, so why do I need to keep the stock stuff?", but realistically I get bored with a car eventually and decide to build something else. Its a lot easier to sell a stock car than a modified one, and you get very little return on your investment if you let all the goodies go with the car. I sold a lot of the stock parts from my 97 SS (heads, intake, cam, exhaust, etc), and now I'm having to track all that stuff down to put it back stock to sell!

I keep it all. Actually it worked out well. Alot of it will be used on the 82, since it was stripped when I got it. RAIF will get a black interior to match the black and red theme and the 82 will get my current interior since it will match it better silver & black.
Its amazing, you never need a part till you get rid of it. I have actually used some of the stuff for referance. Or have had to put it on in a pinch.
