old vette stinger hoods for thirdgens?
I've seen maybe one car on this board with a hood that has the same scoop as the old big block stingray vettes had. Does anyone have pics and/or know where to get them from?
here's a place you can buy one http://www.yearone.com/serverfiles/p...G&hid=G20AA164 Thread Starter

Thanks for the replies, thats exactly what I was looking for.
Hows the quality of those ASCD hoods? Are they fiberglass or steel? My dads paranoid that if I got a of these fiberglass hoods that it will flex and break within a month. Has anyone had that happen?

I've had mine on my '91 for almost a year and seen no cracks and have had no problems. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. I would like to replace the stock hood struts with those from an '82 with factory fiberglass hood, but I can't seem to find them anywhere. Until then, I just use care when closing it as the strut resistance is set for the heavyer steel hood.

did you try getting the hood struts from autozone or something. i've never had to buy these, but i remember this topic coming up before, and they said when you go to autozone and ask for them, they ask you if your hood is steel or glass

anyone know if they make that hood for firebirds?
if so, do you know of anyone who has it? have pics?
i'd be interested to see how it looks, although i cant imagine that hood looking bad on anything.
i spoze it'd be possible to modify the camaro hood to accomidate for the headlights... it's prolly the same fit (as far as bolting on) for firebirds/camaros, no?

Thanks for the replies! I thunk up another question, are the BBS hoods or the SS ones functional? I figure if Im gonna get a good looking hood like that I might as well have one that works.
Besides, it give me a reason to get womething better than the stock crappy air cleaner
