4th Gen Wheels on 3rd Gen

Sorry, i didnt know where to post this-- anyway-- i've read that in order to put 4th gen wheels (I.E. 2002 10 spoke 'SS' 17s) You need either a 4th gen rear or some sort of spacer, because they'll stick out 2 inches on each side if you dont.. Maybe I'm dumb, but wont a spacer make them stick out even more?? Can someone please explain this to me in lamens terms, and tell me where i would get whatever part i need. Thanks

if you try to put a 4th gen rim on a 3rd gen rear end, the back of the wheel will hit the inside of the wheel well. you need the spacers to keep the wheel from hitting the inner wheel well. WITH the spacers, it will look good and nice and even with the rear quarter.

Best thing to do is install a 4th gen rear end and use spacers for the front wheels.

say it with me people....................adapters, not spacers, adapters.......you put spacers on your car for those wheels and your going to hurt yourself.

If you put a fourthgen rearend on the car you only need adaptors for the front.. however you can never go back you are stuck with fourthgen wheels for good unless you want to switch out rearends again...

Zephers wheels look stock on the back they don't stick out at all.

Ya, it's been sitting since March of 2002. Almost a year now.

Wheels sit like they are stock,

adapters are just as safe as changing rears...........however you will have to put up with all the people pointing at them.

Nice wheels! (points to adpaters) What are those?

I hate that almost as much as why do your front brakes sit so far back compared to your rear? (I have a 4th gen rear)

Just tell them that it is for better cooling.
