My Car Update

Hey everyone,
I haven't been on much lately, in fact haven't driven my car since Oct or so. Next week is spring break and I will finally have time to get it running again.
I am in the process of swapping heads (aluminum 200cc Pro Lightnings), new carb Holley 650 DP, and Hedman Long tubes, which I plan to dump the cat-back, and use these silencers that hook to the header to reduce noise but not flow.
So, I'll be posting pics of it later next week hopefully, all cleaned up as well, hasn't been washed in a long long time.

why not run some true duals w/ hooker aerochambers or dynomax bullets and dump it before the rear axle? i have seen those collector inserts, i think car chemistry is one manufacturer, but i have to wonder if they really reduce sound that much. seems that they would reduce flow cause, its an obstrcution in the header collectors. anyway, good luck with the mods. i recently picked a brand new set of hedman long tubes for 154 bucks canadian, with tax. i cant wait to get them on.

You're trying to quiet your exhaust? I thought you liked the WOT scream of your exhaust?

I would assume there will be some noise, one guy on here has it and says it's not quiet.

Either way, if it is, ok by me, I'll just have a good sleeper.

exhaust cut-outs...get them instead of the stupid insert things, that way you can run mufflers most of the time and open the exhaust up when you need to, ie at the track

Because with mufflers, then I have to worry about routing problems, where is with the inserts I won't.

I'll give it a try, if I don't like it then I'll go the dual route.

My only concern is the cops bothering me.

Yeah you've been in the 15,000 range for a long time, you should be in the 100,000's by now. Been driving that Other car around, and neglecting the IROC, but thats OK, at least its about to get some attention.

Was wondering how much those heads ran you? And why did you go with them? Didnt you do a cam swap? And, sad to hear about the Hooker, did you lose your job there or something?

I've been wanting to ditch these 882's every since I found that *** awful casting# (which is the exact opposite of winning the lottery). I'm anxious to see what your car runs like. Got any pics. yet?

C'mon Mark....what happened to your brand loyalty? All the posts explaining how much you loved the Hooker Aerochamber??? Heck...you used to be known as the Hooker Post *****. Quite a name.

Make sure you get us some more sound clips of the exhaust.

They ran me $749 shipped, got them on sale at www.proshaver.com . I went with them because they were creating some buzz on here about their flow #s, and for that price and getting aluminum I didn't want to pass it up. Yes, I did do a cam swap last summer. Comp 268XE, now along with the head swap I'm also adding 1.6 rockers to bump the lift to 509/512 I believe it is.

mark, i really don't think those silencers do much good as far as noise reduction. i have a set of the 2 disc silencers in the sidepipes on the red car. they don't do much at all.

i'd just keep your catback.

I planned on the 3 disc one.

Robert you make a good point, then I'd have to shell out some dough on a y pipe fabrication, and I'm not sure if I want to risk having a crappy one made. Then again, I could just take the cash that I would spend on the inserts and put it towards a nice y pipe.

Brady- I never go in the chat anymore, for one this AOL I'm on now sucks , so I couldn't if I tried.
