Who wants a set of 17 inch GTA wheels?

In my long search for these wheels....I've found them. Feast your eyes on this page:

http://www.speedstar.co.jp/collectio...mula/spec.html

The wheels are made by speedstar (also known as SSR). I know the page is in Jap, so go translate it with Babbelfish on Altavista.

The wheels are available in our lug pattern and 17", so that's a plus. But by my calculations.....one wheel would be $534. Not including the huge shipping.

So who will be first to step up and order a set? If I have 3 grand to spend on wheels in the distant future, I may....but not soon.

Happy viewing folks

They're nice, but certainly not worth the price IMO. I'd rather just pick up a ser of used 16X8 GTA wheels. You could probably get a whole set of those for $534.

Thanks 3.1EyeCandy,

I have sent an email to Tirerack.com to see if they can get them since they sell other SSR products. Maybe they could do it a bit cheaper.

Funny thing, I was just looking at SSR rims today. My friends all have them on their Toyotas. The full revese mesh looks killer. The lip really makes the difference. There is no step in the rim lip like the GTA rims, it's just flat to the center section. The SSRs are super light, but that's because they are pretty thin, not to mention soft. My friends have bent SSRs pretty easily, so just be aware of that if you do get them.

I think you can get them cheaper than what's listed on the site, but if I were gonna spend that much, I'd just buy some HREs or something.

You know I want them. I will gladly pay $534 per rim for them. Those are quality rims. You can't expect to get an Armani suit for 100 bucks. The stock GTA rims look great, but I would love the chance to have 17" ones, and maybe a little wider than 8."

The GTA rims have always been my favorite. There are lots of 17" rims that look like GTA rims, but not quite. These rims are almost a dead knock off, which is what I always wanted, plus I like modular bolts.

So when I finally finish builing my thirdgen, 17" GTA rims will make it complete. To get the rim style in the size, and offset that I really want is priceless to me. The rims are pricey, but I would work weekends to have them on my thirdgen.

SSR has always been expensive. They will make a wheel with any offset you specify. I think Revlimit was quoted like $3200 for a set of 18's without tires!!

I agree with Lane. At that price HRE's look better.

No go.

Tirerack.com said that they only sell the wheels that are listed on their site.

Here's a pic of the SSR reverse mesh on a different car. Sorry the pic quality is poor, but you can see how much different they look compared to the stock GTA rims just because of the lip. These were 15X8, negaive 20mm offset.

Pricing

Bullet Proof Automotive quoted $2700 for a set of 4 (about the same price for 17x9s or 17x9.5s) shipped. I think I'll pass.

Very cool wheel though. Maybe I'll plan a trip to Japan...

I was quoted $1950 plus shipping for 17-inch CXN wheels from Motorsport Specialties. They are the closest I have come in my search for 17-inch GTA wheels.

Great idea in principle - but for that money I'm afraid I'd rather have something a bit more special.
