Hey everyone... Well here in a month of so ill have an engine that wont die after 2000 miles of driving... and for my 19th b-day my mom is buying me a paint job... Well thanks to this board ive found the perfect color i want. The chrysler platinium.. i know someone has it.. i think its like flynlow89 or something but it was beautiful. Well its a 91 bird.. gonna have a 327, and i guess the look i want is just sleak.. id love some sudjestions.. these are kinda my plan.. but im not 100% yet.

4th gen bird spoiler
antenna delete (replace with windsheild sticker)
chrysler platinium paint
as dark as i can go legally with tint all the way around(it has t-tops so tint is a must)
and one day when money permits the firehawk rims...

open for sudjestions... and like i said i kinda like sleak... so a raII hood isnt for me.

id attach a pic, but its a 91 bird.. we all know what they look like and yes it has the gfx..

 

Well, guess I'll go first. Everything above plus a RAI hood or 2" cowl, shave the door handles, and that's' about it. Well maybe a drop is in order, I know mine needs it.

pretty nice price on it.

umm for lowering the eibach pro-kit says it lowers an inch, however due to sagging stock springs you get maybe a 1/2 inch drop.

 

No, it's not an optical illusion, the rears do stick out a tad. They are skulte adapters, 2" front and rear. As you can see the rears should be more like 1 1/2" or maybe a little less, but oh well, that's what they recommended, so I went with it. I kinda like the looks of it, should look sweet with the new tires, instead of the baldies I'm running right now!! I really need to snap some shots with the new paint, looks super sweet now (to me anyway). Later!

why would you copy my paint job? I did it to be orignial and ever since i've had atleast 20 people copying me or planning to. There are more colours out there than you could possibly count...why would you want the same as someone elses if your goign through the trouble of changing the colour?...choose a lighter silver or pewter ro something like that

anyways, if you are set on a similar silver, there ARE others that look as good or BETTER (opinion, of course). some of my favs are the pewter that C5s run around with, and the pewter that latest generation mustangs *GASP* have too. maybe you should check into those, before flyinlow goes and repaints his gorgeous car.

 

I also suggest a lowering kit. Shaved door handles and mabe ghost flames? And FyinLow, why do you care so much. It's not like your going to start seeing thirdgens with that EXACT color running around your town. Now that I see the color I think I will paint my car that color too.

 

i used to respect flyinlow for the beautiful car that he has... but i dont know, i not very much on whiny babies..... i say get the color, it is beautiful and it is your money.

kids, dont get the guys thread locked, he wants opinions on his car not all of yall fightin, but 777ZLLL i think it would look good with one of those power blister hoods they seem to have a sleek design IMO, also if u go to macco on tidewater dr in norfolk they have so many paint colors to look at u will be there for hours...lol

 

That's one hell of a birthday present. That Chyrsler Platnum should look just as great as Flynlow89s. Great color choice. I don't think anyone doesn't like it.

 

Flyinlow89, why u sellin the bird? i remeber when u first got pics of it up here and i loved the way it looked and i drooled over the HUGE garage u have to work on ur cars.

 

ok...... i'm thinking that it's a little crazy to be wanting to change the color in the first place....

if you change the color then you might as well pull the hole car apart and paint over everything that has the original color... under the carpet, all jambs etc.......

now getting mad because someone wants a certain color is defanantly wrong.... i know he was the first to think of the chrysler platinum but how long do you think it will be until some one wants that color as well.....

know i was the absolute first to have the cobra r's on a thirdgen and have yet to see anyone put them on another thirdgen, but i will not get mad if someone does.. hell plenty of people have pm'd me asking about them and iv'e tried to help all i can....

now to say someone is trying to make there car look like a 4th gen is wrong also... maybe they like the design of a certain part..... it dosen't make them a 4th gen wanna be now does it?

Awsome guys.. sorry for starting this tread and starting all these fights... I guess ill look around for other colors, but im really stuck on that one... Ill see tho. Im not going to makko, ive seen there job up close and personal... ew.. (just my $.02) Anyways.. im not really that into the shaving door handles... Seems like a lot of work for something that just doesnt interest me.. but i do like the sudjestion.. maybe when i start making some real money ill look into it.

Yeh thanks to everyone, ive decided after i get my engine done, put in, and broke in, im saving up for that ra1 hood, and definatly the 4th gen spoiler,( sorry i just love the way it looks), getting the 1 inch drop, some kind of silver/grey/something paint,(it was originialy black, and i dont want to wash my car everyday)... get the tint and so on and so forth.

Ive been looking at the raI hoods and there seems to be 2 of them, where is a good place i can get the one that is set back from the nose a little, i dont like the one that is right at the tip of the hood... i think the link that was put up here earlier was the right one i jsut want to make sure.... Thanks again everyone... and here is one more quesiton

i know i sounded into the 4th gen spoiler, but a friend of mine is willing to give up his z38 high rise... im not sure how it would look on a bird.. but it might be nice i know its a lot cheaper, i know it wont be a direct fit, but im getting a shop to do it all. opinions??

 

macco did a great job on my car, and like 5 others that some of my friends had painted there i wasnt overly happy with how they joy rode in my car but i couldnt prove it..erg but there paint work was very good, if i were u id ignore what flyinlow89 says and paint it whatever color u want, ull never see him and really if u do its not a big deal, im sure i copied a whole lot of people with my car color...i dont got no one fighting with me or even saying anything..do what u want, its your car and hes a long way away

 

Ok I would like to start off by saying..dude you can use the colour. I WAS NEVER MAD...sheesh, IM jsut suggesting that there are ncier colours that no one has and will probably end up looking nicer. I never bad mouthed the guy for wanting the colour, I never got mad, i really dont even care that much but some a-hole blew it out of proportion. I would also like to say something about Maaco. they got a terible rep, and Im sure some deserve it. BUt there is one shop here by my palce that has one of the best painters I have ever seen, the prep people work how they get paid but the painter is awesome. I am getting him to paint my 95 formula as a side job next year

 

I dont want flylow to leave this board, I like him, and hes got a beautiful car. I say if you are going for a silver color paint job, rear blackouts would looks good. I think they look good with silver paint.

I dont care who has more mods than me, im not here to compare cars, and I dont really care whos is faster or better lookign. for me its not a competition. Geez Im becoming a post *****......lol.....Ya i gotta sell it because Ive gone as far as I want to with it. with little money invested the car got alot of attention and pulled good for what little it had. But I bought a 95 Formula and I have a 383 LT1 Stroker going in it that made 500 rwhp in my brother's 93 corvette. Now hes going 415 or 401 cid so im gettin his 383. I got alot of plans and with school in the way i cant afford to finance two projects. I love the car and how it handles and sounds and looks and wish i didnt have to sell it, but, not too much choice.

 

If ya want silver, I'd suggest PPG Pepper Gray Metallic. Its the same as "Eleanor" from Gone in 60 Seconds. Very nice color.

 

Man, you take being unqiue and having something origianal pretty seriously. Now a days, if you want to be really unique, you have to do something more drastic that involves so much work or time or money that on one would want to do it.



Lol, I have yet to see someone's front bumper look like mine. I didn't take me long to make it look that way, but I really doubt anyone would copy it - nor would want to. It certianaly is different.
