Mini Me Ram (big pic post - not dialup friendly)
Getting ready to do my install in a few weeks. Just got this back today. So in the ongoing battle to balance show and go I offer this...
Tried to clean up some of the shiny parts prior to powdercoating. It was pretty rough to start with. It turned out ok.
Before and afters...

after powdercoat...

I like the last picture the best...lol...That ram looks awesome, did you polish that emblem? Looks pretty sweet, I like how you made the emblems stand out by stopping the coating on the edged.

Yeah I polished it out a bit. If you look at the very first pic, the stuff that looks like dirt is actually ridges in the aluminum from the machining. I sanded it down and polished it. Not quite a mirror but a definite improvement.
1 week until install - woo hoo!

Thanks for the compliments gentlemen. I am pleased with the way that it turned out. I also have some 'unique' valve covers that I will be installing along with the mini ram. I'll post pics after the install.
nolan,
I had a local company called Portland Powder Coating do the work. Great guys to work with.
It is going on my L98. This is year one of a three year plan (if I can actually wait that long - hehe). I am installing the miniram, LT4 Hot Cam, Z28 springs, Comp timing chain, Screw in studs, Comp 1.6 Magnum RR's, valve locks, seals, etc. I am leaving on the stock heads for now so that will be the new choking point. Should be a nice increase overall though.
Robert,
As far as how much power, I am not sure. DD2000 spits out a pretty nice number but always seems to be a bit optimistic. At a minimum, it will shift the power band up and that will be real fun with the TKO
FWIW, here is a chart from TPIS that shows gains on a stock corvette L98 by installing the miniram. I don't know how accurate that the chart is so take it for what it's worth.

I put down 342 rwtq n/a on the dyno so I am not too worried about being weak down low.
Almost everything I have done in the last year has been to build up a decent platform. I am looking forward to actually adding more power.

Amrish,
Many better than I have already gone there. I have benefitted from their experience. To give credit where credit is due, check out MikeInAZ's website here . He has an excellent site with some great tips. I have used his polishing tips on the intake and I am currently working on the outer lip of my GTA wheels. I think if I had been a bit more patient on the sanding steps it might have been a little better. But for a few sheets of sandpaper, a drill, a few buffs and some compound you can get some good results.
There are others on the boards that have also had good results. Check out the technical articles.
Happy polishing!

Very nice man. That is what i wanted to do so bad! I just could not find a place to do the powdercoating for a good price! Can't wait to see the end product. Keep up the good work.
