I used high temp engine clear coat. it will just flake off otherwise because of the heat from the breaks
there is a metal sealer made by ZOOP SEAL that works well. They say it protects for 2 years. You won't have to polish your rims any more after you apply it. Sorry don't remember the web site, but use a search engine to find it.

yep clearing polished alum makes it go dull or white cast color to it. that zoop seal stuff was used on "Trucks" (tv show) there web site should have contact info where to get it.

I just applied Zoop seal to some brand new polished ZR1 wheels. Went on fine but Ill get back to you in 2 years to give results. heh
