Wow!
Sorry to see your car looking like that.
As for the insurance company, the sad reality is to fix that properly, (have a new quarter welded on, door skin, paint, etc.)they would probably want to total the car out.
If it were mine and an insurance company was going to pay to fix it, I absolutely would not settle for just having dents pulled and a bunch of bondo.
Good luck to you!

A warning:

According to most Kelly Blue Book/ NADA type publications: our cars are worth right about 3 to 4 grand. You and I know that a good car will never be found for that amount. Don't settle for this amount.

I"m in the the process right now of dealing with another guy's insurance that totalled my GTA. It's a long hard battle....but at last I think I'm winning it. Make sure to provide examples of cars for sale that are within the price range you value your car at. Any pictures/receipts you may have of your car before the accident can do wonders if it comes to legal action. And last but not least - don't lose hope. Insurance companies don't like having claims sitting in files for more than 90 days. If they low-ball you then tell them to go find you a few cars in the price range they're trying to pay and then wait for them. I'm right at about 90 days with mine and suddenly they started calling again.

yeah the book values for our cars a quite low. the things is about blue books and NADA books is that they assume luxury options such as T tops, Leather, AC, Automatic transmissions, stuff like that make a cars value more. but in reality some of the leaser, rarer optioned cars of our nature are actually worth more then the decked out ones. mine is a base model IROC-Z 305TPI 5spd with the hardtop, 15" wheels and drum rear, so to them it isnt worth much, but in reality its actually worth more then a fully optioned one due to its rarity. im aware of having the car fixed right, my dad owned a body shop and still does some work on the side. i want it done right, and i will not let the car be totalled out.

I'm so scared of mine getting hit with the new paint but what can you do. It seems like Suv's are the most dangerous to not only bikes but f-bodies now to. I saw a pos bird get hit head on the other day by a denali who came over the center line. On one side i hate to see a thirdgen get taken out like that but on the other hand it was in bad shape so it just got put out of its misery. If you decide to part it out whicj\h i doubt you will let me know i'll grab those wheels off yuo. But definately try to get it fixed first. But please for the love of the car NO BONDO!!

Sorry to hear about your accident.

I really can't stand some people with their SUV's. They think that they own the road.

I am sure your car is fixable...don't give her up!

Sorry bout your wreck... Sucks to be hit like that out of nowhere.

For those of you talking about insurance.
If your car is worth alot to you then take steps to make sure you are covered. Agreed value insurance like for classic cars or kit cars is the best way to insure your vehicle if it is worth more than bluebook. Whether that value is what you have put in the car or just what that car is worth to you in your heart. If its worth 10,000 then get it insured for that amount dont rely on State Farm or Allstate. You will pay more for insurance but you will be protected in case something happens. Just do a search for classic car insurance or agreed value insurance.

Im not trying to flame anybody just trying to help with a little information. J-Lo doesnt use allstate to insure her a$$. (Boy the damage Id like to do to that phat thang.....
Sorry...
