Ronal R15 owners, please step inside... quick help with a question...

Just very quickly, I have a normal disc front drum rear 87 camaro... all I gotta do is put the spacers on the front, use the lugs made for the spacers, and then bolt 'em all up right? Just want to be positive... this kid around here has them on a 91-92 formula and something happened and it fuged his stuff up0 BIG time... don't wanna mess anything up...

All of the above is correct. If you do not have the 1le brake package (or an aftermarket equivelent) you have to use the spacer and appropriate lug nuts.

You *may* also have to grind the small tab off the out side edge of the driver's side tie rod.

Good luck and lets see pictures when you get them on!!!

Ok, how did your spacers fit? Mine were like loose... were yours the same way? Just kinda dangled, not tight fitting around the studs? Just wanna make sure before I drive it anywhere but down the street...

My spacers were loose too. I tired to reach behind the wheel to hold them in place as I tightened down the lugs. With the spacers on the front, the wheel may not center properly. The spacers push the wheel far enough out that it will be past the machined portion of the hub, causing a loose fit when it should be tight. Becareful not to torque the nuts to 85ft lbs the first time. Slowly work in a star crisscross pattern. I recomend 25lbs, then 50lbs, then 85lbs. This will help the wheel center on the lugs. The rears will fit snuggly on the axle, the fronts with spacers will not fit snuggly on the hubs. When the wheel is on, give it a few spins to make sure its not rubbing, esp on the tie rod. With such tight tolerances, there is zero room for error. I would recommend installing longer studs if possible aswell. The longer lug nuts supplied are very thin for the first 1/4" of the threads.

With the spacers I still had to grind the tie rods. Haven't tried the wheels with my 1LE brakes yet.

I just put the fronts on the normal way.. i'm kinda scared

Put the spacers on, put on the wheel just snug/slightly hand tight... went back and hit it with a torque wrench at 100 ft-lbs.... drove around the block and it seemed ok....

You think I'm good to go

yup i used the front spacers and special lug nuts and no problems at all. they clear the stock tie rod ends just by alittle but thats certainly enough. as far as the spacers yeah they do have alot of area to move around and as Justins86bird said try just tightening every lug nut alittle at a time to ensure proper tightening and spacer centering.

Well I drove it to school... home for lunch... back to school, then home.. rode just fine except that it tracked every which way - is that just how a low profile wide wheel/tire combo is? I looked behind the drivers side wheel at lunch, there are like 2 small ding lookin marks on the inside lip... is this from the tie rod? Anyway, here are the pictures...

Looks good.

Yep, grooves in the road will want to make it pull. Wide tires and crappy roads will give you strong arms:sillylol:

The tie rod rubbing will score the wheel as it spins. I doubt it would put dings into the wheel. Might have happened when you put the wheels on. The rim comes really close to the top of the strut body.

Mine bumpsteer hard on badly worn roads. I highy recommend getting solid tie rod sleeves as the stockers are flimsy and wil actually cause this to get worse as they flex and bend.

Oh, by the way.... Pics?

Is it possible to get these spacers by themselves?

I have a set of the original Firehawk wheels. Don't have any spacers. I'm thinking of painting them black like the current SLP wheels and throwing them on my GTA. But I don't have spacers.

Also, anyone know if its possible to get the SLP centercaps by themselves? The red Firehawk logo ones I have won't look very good when the wheels are painted black.

They are just regular slip on spacers. You can buy them from Summit. Mr. Gasket sells them.

Dunno about the centercaps.

Are they the same spacers that will allow me to fit 4th gen wheels or different ones altogether?

They're different. For 4th gen wheels, you'll need thick bolt-ons. For the Ronal Firehawks, you need the slip ons (except 1le brakes)
