I agree with freeze. I painted my RS wheels black where it used to be white. So now I have black and aluminum on a silver car. IMO looks good on the 91-92 RS wheels

I found these red zr1's on ebay and thought they were different so I saved them. I don't think they would look bad it they had a polished lip! But I would never put red rims on a red car only on a black car.

I personally don't like the color wheel look. There is a 4th gen 'Maro runnin around here. The car is black, windows tinted black, black out lights all around, black rims, and of course the tires are black. It is the single ugliest car I have ever seen in my life. That and this guy around here who has a black truck with dark gray wheels... and a Nascar Craftsmen Truck series sticker on it.
Stuff like that just looks rediculous to me.

You need some kind of contrast to make the wheels 'stick out' when you look at the car. The black wheels above are fine, because they have a shiny lip. IMO, the only way you can do all black(or other color) wheels is if they have thin spokes, so you can see 'thru' the wheel. Like the Z06 wheels.

I think the black on the black cars look fine as long as you have the lip unpainted and shiny to give some contrast between the rubber tire and the rim.

Color coded rims can look bad if its not in a color shade that ranges from white to black. Those are what I call safe colors. I have never seen a rim that was red that I thought didn't look bad.
